Do Not Get Attached to Coordinators' Mistakes
By Dafa Practitioners in Heilongjiang Province, China
(Clearwisdom.net) When the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Falun Gong
assistance centers in various regions of China were all virtually shut down
overnight. Almost all those who were assistance center coordinators and
associate coordinators at that time have personally experienced the persecution.
Most were either illegally detained or sentenced to forced labor camps or
prisons. With the progress of Fa-rectification, many practitioners in different
regions have stepped forward and become the new coordinators. They are mainly in
charge of coordinating some of the activities that practitioners in different
regions need to do to support their doing the three things, such as
establishing materials preparation sites, arranging local experience-sharing
conferences, organizing the rescue of detained practitioners, and so on. Their
roles in the validation of the Fa cannot be underestimated. However, they may
inevitably make mistakes. We, as practitioners, should
treat the coordinators' problems according to the Fa and with pure and calm
minds. "The coordinators among Dafa disciples are in fact just coordinators,
points of contact, and people who relay information. Don't think of them as
Master, and don't have such high expectations that you rely on them as you
cultivate and expect them to handle everything just right. It's not like that.
If the coordinator were really like Master, or able to consider things from
all angles and never be wrong, then a lot of people in that area couldn't
cultivate successfully, since with him thinking things through so well there'd
be nothing left for you to think about. If he were to do everything just right
you wouldn't have a chance to show your great qualities. You see the idea,
right?" ("Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific
Students," April 12, 2004) First, we have to realize that the coordinators are also cultivators, and it
is normal for them to make mistakes. We should not expect too much from them. We
should not assume that they have to be those who have best cultivated themselves
in the local areas. Moreover, we should not anticipate that they will get the
best results when doing everything, because these kinds of thoughts are neither
in accord with reality nor with the requirements of Dafa for the coordinators. We have noticed that if practitioners have placed an expectation that is too
high on the coordinators, something negative will inevitably result. What is the
negative result? It is that once they find that the coordinators have made
mistakes, they feel disappointed, their human notions arise, and they thus
become attached to the mistakes that the coordinators have made. The
practitioners then think that the coordinators' problems will affect the overall
situation, hinder the progress of Fa-rectification, and block the paths of the
other practitioners. They believe that the coordinators' problems are too
serious to remain unresolved. As a matter of fact, the issue is not as severe as
they imagine. Because the coordinators also have Master's Law Bodies to take
care of them, Master will not let their problems slip by. Master will not
forfeit the opportunity for them to improve. So when we have Master and the Fa,
what are we still attached to? We must correctly view the coordinator's problems. When seeing a
coordinator's problem, we should kindly point it out to him and help him correct
it. We should not discuss it behind the coordinator's back, much less reproach
him. Meanwhile, the local practitioners should also search within themselves as
the coordinator's problems are perhaps reflecting their own problems. Last year, a conflict occurred among the practitioners in our local region.
Some practitioners became attached to the local coordinator's problems and the
coordinator was attached to the problems of these practitioners. They did not
search within themselves. The conflict got worse and worse. Almost all the local
practitioners were involved, and the situation became quite intense. The
conflict was unprecedented in the region in terms of the length of time it
lasted (ten months), the high number of practitioners who were involved, and the
intensity of the conflict. In the end, through Fa study and through every
practitioner's searching within him or herself, the conflict was resolved and
the separation among the practitioners was also eliminated. Since then, the
local practitioners have again formed a powerful whole entity, which has made
the local Fa-rectification situation become better. Therefore, by correctly viewing the problems that the coordinators have, we
are not only responsible to the coordinators, but also to Dafa, as well as to
ourselves. |
