Officials of Weifang City, Shandong Province Again Attempt to Sentence Mr. Dai Zongqiu, Who Previously Became Gravely Ill During Detention

(Clearwidom.net) Mr. Dai Zongqiu, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Anqiu City (under Weifang City), Shandong Province, has been detained in the Anqiu City Detention Center and persecuted there since April 18, 2007. Although he is ill with diabetes, he was still sentenced to two years of imprisonment and has been continuously mistreated.

Mr. Dai Zongqiu, 49, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa in 2000 and was subsequently sentenced to three years of forced labor. He was detained in Weifang Forced Labor Camp. He was subjected to brutal inhuman mistreatment, which led to his diabetes. Even so, his prison term was extended for five months. He was released in 2004.

Due to the brutal mistreatment, Mr. Dai Zongqiu still has diabetes symptoms. Concerned about his health, his sister, Dai Zongzhen, who was living in exile to avoid persecution, went to see him several times. She was followed by malicious persons. During the mass arrests in Weifang City on April 18, 2007, Mr. Dai Zongqiu was arrested again by police officer Li Shenghua (male), among others. They confiscated all of the money his family had (800 yuan). His teenage son was about to go to high school, but now his family can no longer support him, and he has had to apply for jobs to support his family.

It is known that Mr. Dai Zongqiu's diabetes recurred again in the detention center, and it is severe. The CCP officials do not want to release him and have even attempted to sentence him to forced labor again.
