The Persecution of Two Falun Dafa Practitioners in Shashi District, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Cheng Jingjiang and Wang Qiong from the Shashi District, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province were often persecuted by the local Chinese Communist Party authorities. Below are the details.

Cheng Jingjiang, a retiree from the Shashi Dye Plant in Jingzhou City, was illegally arrested many times for her Falun Gong practice. The persecutors sent her to prison in 2001 for three years, where she was subjected to repeated torture. Following Ms. Cheng's release, 610 Office agents unreasonably rejected her application to visit her son and daughter-in-law abroad. She was forbidden to apply for a passport.

Shashi District 610 Office Chief Yang Jialong, Section Chief Jiang Zhi and their agents arrested Ms. Cheng several times for clarifying the facts about Falun Gong to people. One time they came to her home, near a farmer's market, and blockaded it. She refused to open the door and defied the persecutors. She climbed a ladder to the top of the yard compound wall and clarified the facts to the surrounding people. More and more people gathered. Those people who knew the facts all accused the authorities of persecuting a good citizen. The 610 Office people had to retreat temporarily. However, this older woman decided to go into exile to avoid further persecution. She has so far not returned home.

Wang Qiong, a teacher at the Wenxin School in the Shashi District, was also imprisoned several times for practicing Falun Gong. She was sentenced to forced labor twice and sent to a brainwashing center three times. In 2001 she was tortured for four whole days and nights. Li Zhigang, an officer from Section One at the Shashi District Police Department, along with others committed the crimes against Ms. Wang. She was forced to stand still continuously and was forbidden to sit. They abused her with electric batons and later imprisoned her in the Shashi Detention Center for 14 months. The torture and abuse caused this formerly healthy woman to develop heart disease.

In 2006, under the direction of Shashi District 610 Office head Yang Jialong and others, perpetrators seized Ms. Wang roughly and took her to the Hubei Province Legal and Education Center (in reality a brainwashing center). Yang Jialong demanded payment of 6,000 yuan from Wang Qiong's school, threatening them. The school is currently deducting more than 7,000 yuan from Ms. Wang's salary. Her superiors forced Wang Qiong to work at the school's factory, school furnace room, and as a door-keeper. Ms. Wang Qiong has not yet been reinstated in her original position as a teacher.
