Whereas the welfare of a community is measured by its ability to meet the needs of all its citizens and depends not only upon the local government, but also upon citizen involvement within the community,

And Whereas the Falun Dafa Association of Canada has provided a valuable service to citizens of this community in this regard, thereby demonstrating good citizenship, contributing to, enriching and benefiting the quality of life within this community,

And Whereas City Council on behalf of its citizens wishes to recognize, give support and pay tribute to such dedication and public spirited contribution, and is of the opinion that a specific period should be set apart and be designated in recognition of this worthy service;

Now Therefore take notice and let it be known that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Oshawa extends grateful appreciation and in recognition and testimony thereof does hereby proclaim

May 13^th, 2007
