practitioner Shi Xiangdong, who works in the Shijiazhuang City Religion
Administration Bureau, was illegally arrested after a call to the
police by Wu Xianguo, Shijianzhuang City Communist Committee Secretary. Ms. Shi
had privately asked Wu to treat Falun Gong kindly after Wu spoke at a minorities
conference and slandered Falun Gong. Her husband Liu Xin heard about the arrest
and asked for her at the police station. As a result, he was also detained. Soon
after, their home was ransacked and their computer, printer and Falun Dafa
books, among other items, were illegally taken. Ms. Shi Xiangdong and Mr. Liu Xin and their daughter in
happier times On the night of June 7, Liu Xin's 70-year-old mother received an arrest
notice from the Procuratorate of Xinhua District, Shijiazhuang City.
