Practitioners Illegally Arrested in Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) On June 10, 2007, the police unit in Songlingdian Township of Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province, dispatched three police cars and more than twelve policemen to the villages of Nanma, Beizi, Yulin, and Cangniutun of Songlindian Township and illegally arrested Falun Dafa practitioners Liu Guanglin, Zhang Shuhong, Wang Fuhua, Yang Xuechun, Liu Kemei, Hu Guiqian, and others.

Xu Dongsheng of Xizhuangtou Village and Li Fuming of Shijiazhang Village were the first two to break into practitioner Liu Guanglin's home by jumping over the courtyard wall, followed by more than twelve other policemen. They ransacked the practitioners' home but did not find what they were looking for. At this point, a police retrieved some Falun Gong truth clarification materials that he had brought with him and told Liu Guanglin that they had found the materials in his home. The police then forced a member of Mr. Liu's family to open the security door so that they could arrest Mr. Liu. The police used the same despicable means to arrest villager Yang Xuechun, who was watching over a cow giving birth to a calf at the time. Mr. Yang had read Falun Dafa books previously but had later quit practicing Falun Gong.

It was said that the culprit behind the mass arrests of Falun Gong practitioners was Li Lin, the secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in Nanma Village, who had been in office for over 40 years and was also acting as the deputy head of the Songlingdian Township. Li had been accused by local villagers of embezzling funds from the sale of trees and land belonging to Nanma Village. In fear of punishment for his wrongdoing, Li used his power as the CCP local head to harass and persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Li is famous for his cunning and deceit. He is the mastermind of the Nanma Brainwashing Camp, which was used to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in the entire Baoding District.

On the morning of June 7, 2007, policemen from Baoding District and Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province held a meeting in Songlingdian Township to devise new methods to slander and persecute Falun Gong. In order to win appreciation from his bosses, Li Lin, the party secretary of Nanma Village, gave a speech during the meeting showing his determination to persecute Falun Gong. In several days, the evil CCP gathered people from local police units, the National Security Bureau, the 610 Office, the municipal government, public offices, and economic enterprises, as well as party secretaries of each township and village. They announced that Zhuozhou City was to be the center of oppression of Falun Gong. It was said that Luo Gan (head of the central 610 Office) toured Shijiazhuang City, Zhangjiakou City and Baoding District in his campaign to urge local officials to intensify the persecution against Falun Gong.
