Fearing That the NTDTV Station Will Spread the Truth, Police in Leiyang City, Hunan Province Arrest Those Installing Satellite Receivers


(Clearwisdom.net) In early June, police officers in Leiyang City, Hunan Province, took into custody Falun Gong practitioners who have repeatedly clarified the truth, as well as non-practitioners who have installed satellite receivers for the New Tang Dynasty TV (NTDTV) Station.

On the afternoon of June 5, 2007, when two practitioners were clarifying the truth and distributing CDs to high school students who were on summer vacation, they were reported to police by a soldier who did not know the truth about Falun Gong. He Xiaoping (male) and Cao Xinhua (male) from the State Security Division interrogated and tortured the male practitioner all day. They handcuffed him behind his back and hung him up for half an hour. The family of the practitioner was fined 6,000 yuan by the State Security Division, then 10,000 yuan by the 610 Office. Afterwards, he was released. The second practitioner was fined 4,000 yuan.

On the afternoon of June 12, four more practitioners and a non-practitioner were taken into custody by the police. At the time, practitioner Mr. Xie Huijun was installing a satellite receiver for the NTDTV Station at the home of Ms. Li Zenghua, a non-practitioner. A group of police officers from the State Security Division in Hengyang City rushed in and took Mr. Xie and Ms. Li away.

At the same time, another group of police officers from Hengyang City took into custody Mr. Yang Sisheng, a teacher. During the night, officers arrested Mr. Xu Zhongdang and Mr. Liu Shiying, practitioners from Zhao City, under the pretext that they had installed satellite receivers for the NTDTV Station.

As of June 14, 2007, Mr. Liu Shiying had been fined 3,000 yuan and Ms. Li Zenghua 1,000 yuan. After Mr. Xie Huijun was taken away, the officers searched his home twice and confiscated his computer, printer, CD burner, and truth-clarifying materials. Mr. Yang Sisheng was transfered to Hengyang City and illegally detained there. This situation is a reflection of just how much the police fear the NTDTV Station.
