1. [Hebei Province] Persecution in Jidong Prison
Officials in Jidong Prison are continuing their attempt to "transform" practitioners. It has been learned that a practitioner who has been on a hunger strike for two years has been held at the Zhimu Team in Subdivision No. 1 and force-fed by two or three inmates each morning and afternoon.
Prior to April 25, 2007, the prison authorities located four former practitioners who betrayed their belief to intensively "transform" practitioners. The practitioners were deprived of a break at noon time. The practitioner on a hunger strike was extremely weak physically and had been taken to the hospital several times.
2. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Sun Yaoting's Life in Imminent Danger
Mr. Sun Yaoting is a practitioner living in Sunpo Village, Goushi Town in the Yanshi area of Luoyang City, Henan Province. He has been illegally detained at the Yanshi Detention Center since December 23, 2006. He vomited blood three times in the detention center. Each time, he also coughed up blood, felt chest pain, had difficulty breathing, and suffered from pain in his lungs afterwards. He was diagnosed with tuberculosis after three checkups at the Yanshi City People's Hospital, each with results from X-ray examinations, blood and urine tests, and sputum sample analysis. During the third exam, he was found to have holes in his lungs. He continues to cough up sputum with traces of blood.
On May 8, Mr. Sun was secretly transferred to the Xinmi Men's Prison. The prison authorities refused to admit him because of his physical condition. Yanshi officials called his family and asked for cash for another checkup at the Luoyang No. 3 People's Hospital. Mr. Sun's family could not come up with the money. Mr. Sun's life is in imminent danger. Officials in the Yanshi Detention Center and those in charge of his case still refuse to release him.

3. [Beijing] Practitioner Mr. Shi Yingji Sentenced to Six Years in Prison
On May 18, the Yanqing Court held a secret trial and sentenced practitioner Mr. Shi Yingji to six years in prison. The court, by convention, should have posted the trial schedule three days in advance, and family members should have been notified to attend the trial. However, the Yanqing Court fabricated evidence, prevented Mr. Shi from hiring an attorney, and went through the sentencing in secret. They also lied to Mr. Shi's family in order to prevent them from knowing more about the court's illegal procedure and that the case had been submitted to the higher court. Mr. Shi's family only learned that the sentencing was from the Yanqing Court when they saw postings afterwards on May 19.
4. [Guanling County, Guizhou Province] Practitioner Mr. Fu Honglie's Home Searched
On April 16, 2007, Zhang Sheng (male), head of Section No. 1 of the Guanling County Police Department in Guizhou Province, led three other officers to practitioner Mr. Fu Honglie's home in Yongning Town. The officers took away Falun Dafa books, copies of truth-clarifying materials, and the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.
Mr. Fu was taken to forced labor camp. Last year, he was taken to the Maomaodong Reservoir Brainwashing Center in Anshun City, Guizhou Province.

5. [Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Mr. Sun Maoji Detained
At around noon on May 22, 2007, Gao Shiyun (male) from the Political Security Division of Wafangdian City Police Department and other officers forced their way into practitioner Mr. Sun Maoji's home when Mr. Sun's son-in-law opened the door. They entered under the excuse of "gathering information" and took Mr. Sun to the Fude Police Station. The officers later searched his home, confiscating copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and other truth-clarifying materials. At around 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. that afternoon, the police took Mr. Sun Maoji to the Wafangdian City Detention Center and placed him in detention on criminal charges.

Ms. Ren Shengxiu is a practitioner from Xin Township in the Nanyang area in Guiyu Town, Chaoyang District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province. On April 20, agents from the Shantou City 610 Office and officials of the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp took her to the Shantou Brainwashing Center. Six to eight other practitioners are held in the brainwashing center.

On the morning of May 22, practitioner Mr. Liu Zhigao, an employee at the Daqing Water Supply Company, was taken away from his workplace by the police. Over twenty practitioners have been taken into custody since April 25 by the Daqing police.

Practitioner Ms. Liu Ximei from Wangqing County works in Yanji City. At 3:00 p.m. on May 12, Ms. Liu was taken to the Beishan Police Station while she was clarifying the truth in Yanji City. Ms. Liu is being held at the Yanji City Detention Center.

10. [Xiong County, Hebei Province] Practitioner Ms. Zhai Xiaofeng Arrested
Ms. Zhai Xiaofeng is a practitioner from Duangang Village in Zangang Town, Xiong County, Hebei Province. At around 10:00 a.m. on May 17, 2007, while she was at home, twenty or so officers from the county 610 Office, the State Security Division, and the Zangang Police Station suddenly arrived and took her into custody. Ms. Zhai is being held at the Xiong County Detention Center.
In addition, the 610 Office has issued orders to all communities that officials are to be sent to Falun Gong practitioners' homes to force them to give up their belief. Practitioners' lives have been disrupted.

Ms. He Pinqin, 60, a practitioner from Minhang District, was followed and taken into custody on around May 12, 2007. Ms. He is being held at the Minhang Detention Center.

Ms. Hao, an elderly practitioner from the Changchun area, was recently arrested while she was clarifying the truth.

Practitioner Ms. Li Zhaoxia suddenly went missing on the morning of May 12. It was learned that she had been taken away by Zhaoyuan City police officers. Her elderly mother, in her seventies, and other family members have been looking for her. On about the third day after her disappearance, Ms. Li's family suddenly received a call from her. She told them that she had been taken away by the police. Her family asked her where she was located. She said that she did not know the place. No one has heard from her since.

15. [Laiyuan County, Hebei Province] Practitioner Ms. An Huizhen Arrested
On May 16, 2007, Ms. An Huizhen, a practitioner from Laiyuan County, Hebei Province, saw people destroying truth-clarifying materials posted by the roadside in Zhou Village of Jinjiajing Township. She stepped forward and clarified the truth to them. Those people did not feel remorse for their actions. Instead, they called the police.
Li Zhiyong (male), director of Jinjiajing Police Station, and police officer Zhou Jianguo (male) took Ms. An into custody. Later, three officers led by Wei Jinkui (male) broke into Ms. An's home. 17. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Lishan Faces Five Years in Prison
Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Lishan is a teacher in the Physics Institute of Hebei Normal University. Her husband, Mr. Zheng Hongjie (also a practitioner), is a cadre in the policy research office of the Hebei Province Party Committee. They were both arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials on April 26, 2005 and fired by their employers.
Mr. Zheng Hongjie was released after three months of persecution. However, he was arrested five days later. He is now on parole pending trial.
Ms. Zhang Lishan has been held at the Shijiazhuang No. 2 Detention Center and made to do forced labor. She was also tortured by having her hands handcuffed to two steel pipes fixed high on the wall. Extra-heavy handcuffs and shackles were put on her. She suffered from pain in her entire body, and she could not sleep or take care of herself. Ms. Zhang has been held in custody for over two years. She faces a prison term of five years.
18. [Shandong Province] Practitioner Mr. Zhao Shiheng Held at Weibei Forced Labor Camp after the End of His Term
Practitioner Mr. Zhao Shiheng from Shouguang City was sentenced to four years of forced labor for clarifying the truth near the Shouguang City Police Department in September 2003. He has been held at the Weibei Forced Labor Camp to serve his term, which should have ended on May 18, 2007. Mr. Zhao wrote a solemn statement declaring that his accepting the brainwashing in the labor camp was under pressure, and is null and void, and as a result he remains in custody. Labor camp officials have been quite firm in keeping him in custody.
19. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Revised and Updated Report on Ms. Xu Jianzhen and Another Arrested Practitioner
On the evening of May 12, 2007, Ms. Xu Jianzhen, 45, an employee of the Shimo Mine in the Nanshu area in Laixi City, Shandong Province, and another practitioner, Ms. Feng Wei, were hanging a banner by the roadside. They were spotted by patrolling officers in Laixi City. The police took them into custody. Ms. Xu and Ms. Feng are being held at the Laixi City Detention Center. The police also searched Ms. Xu's home, confiscating a personal computer and a DVD burner.

20. [Jiangxi Province] Practitioners Ms. Liu Hongmei and Ms. Shu Hua Arrested in Zhejiang Province
In late March 2007, practitioners Ms. Liu Hongmei and Ms. Shu Hua, in her fifties, from Dexing City, Jiangxi Province were arrested at the Yiwu Railroad Station in Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province. They are being held at the Yiwu Detention Center.
21. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Additional Information on Ms. Mi Jin'ai and Two Other Arrested Practitioners
On the morning of May 19, 2007, practitioner Ms. Mi Jin'ai from Hecheng District was arrested at her work unit by 610 Office agents, State Security and Public Security officers, and officials from the neighborhood administration office. One day earlier, the police drove to Ms. Mi's younger sister's home, where she lives. Her family refused to open the door. The officers called over the phone and asked if she was continuing to practice Falun Gong. She replied, "It is such a great practice, why should I not practice it?" The next day, as soon as she arrived at work, she was taken away. Ms. Mi is being held at a brainwashing center located in the Hutianlao District in Huaihua City. She had been taken to a forced labor camp twice before.
Two practitioners at the Xiangwei Factory in Xupu County were taken into custody again. The practitioners have the surnames of Tang and Xie.
22. [Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province] Practitioners Ms. Liang Xueying and Ms. Liang Weiying Face Unjust Trial
Ms. Liang Xueying and her sister Ms. Liang Weiying are practitioners from Zhaoqing City. Last month, they went to Guangning County in Zhaoqing City to distribute truth-clarifying materials. They were turned in to the authorities and arrested by the county 610 Office and State Security Division. They are being held at the Guangning Detention Center. The court is preparing for a trial against the two sisters to sentence them to prison.
23. [Beijing] Numerous Practitioners Arrested
In March 2007, during the conferences of the National People's Congress and the National People's Political Consultative Conference, over thirty people were taken away by the police in the Fangshan area in Beijing. The authorities suspected them to be Falun Gong practitioners.
In an atomic energy research institute located in Fangshan District, two elderly couples and maybe one or two other practitioners (also elderly retirees) were taken away. They have been held for over two months.

Ms. Huang Huili, a practitioner from Zhongyuan District in Zhengzhou City remains in custody at the Zhengzhou City No. 4 Detention Center. Recently, the authorities officially placed her under arrest in preparation for escalated persecution.

Ms. Xiao Guimin and her daughter Ms. Ji Jiayun are practitioners from Zhuanduo Village in Yangchengzhuang Township, Jinghai County, Tianjin. They were arrested a week ago while delivering truth-clarifying materials to fellow villagers. Practitioner Ms. Li Huandi from Jinghai Town in Jinghai County was taken into custody at the same time. The three practitioners are being held at the Jinghai Detention Center.

At 10:00 a.m. on May 21, 2007, He Baoyu (male) and other officers from Section No. 1 of the Yuzhou Police Department followed practitioner Ms. Tang Ping, while she was clarifying the truth. The officers took her into custody and searched her home, confiscating her cellular phone and over 3,000 yuan in cash. Ms. Tang Ping is being held at the Yulin City No. 2 Detention Center.

It has been learned that Ms. Fang has been transferred to the Jiangxi Brainwashing Center in Hubei Province. On the evening of May 21, Jin Guoxin led officers to Ms. Fang's parents-in-law's home for a search, where they confiscated a personal computer.

Elderly practitioner Qian (surname, gender unknown) was arrested on May 9 while attending a Fa conference.
At around 6:00 a.m. on May 22, Ms. Xia Baohua, a practitioner who lives in the family quarters of the Tongyong Machinery Factory in Erdao District, was arrested at her home. Her home has since been searched.
Practitioners Ms. Li Jing and Mr. Jin Chengquan, living in the family quarters of the Tongyong Machinery Factory in Erdao District, were also arrested.
31. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Ms. Wang Yajun Arrested
On the morning of May 16, 2007, officers from the Erdao District Police Department and the Dongsheng Road Police Station broke into practitioner Ms. Wang Yajun's home. The officers ignored Ms. Wang's mother, in her 90's, who was lying on the bed, and took Ms. Wang away. The officers also confiscated Falun Dafa books, a portrait of Falun Gong's founder, and truth-clarifying materials.
32. [Beijing] Practitioner Mr. Yu Ming on a Hunger Strike in Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp
Practitioner Mr. Yu Ming has been on a hunger strike at the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp in Beijing. In April 2006, he was transferred from the East Building (where Divisions 1 and 3 consist exclusively of practitioners) to the West Building (where other inmates are held).

34. [Chongqing] Practitioner Ms. Fan Anrong Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor
Ms. Fan Anrong, 23, is a practitioner from Chongqing. On around February 15, 2007, she was arrested by State Security officers in Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. After severe torture, she has been sentenced to one year of forced labor. Ms. Fan is being held at the Shimahe Women's Forced Labor Camp.
35. [Beijing] Practitioner Mr. Li Yuejin Held in the Mentougou Area
On April 27, practitioner Mr. Li Yuejin was taken away from his home in Shijingshan District, Beijing by officers from the Mentougou Police Station and the Shijingshan District State Security Division. Mr. Li is being held in the Mentougou area. His family has been denied any visits despite their numerous attempts.
36. [Tianjin] Practitioner Ms. Zhai Jinze Held by Hexi Police Department
Practitioner Ms. Zhai Jinze, 60, was posting and distributing truth-clarifying materials in the Xiaohaidi area in Hexi District on April 28, 2007. She was taken into custody by the police and held by the Hexi Police Department.
37. [Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province] Practitioners Ms. Shi Sumei and Ms. Chen Yuxian Persecuted
Practitioner Ms. Shi Sumei is an official in the supplementary food industry in Zhangzhou City. She was forcefully "transformed" under pressure in a brainwashing center in 2001. In April 2002, Ms. Shi awakened and published a solemn declaration on the Chinese edition of the Clearwisdom website (Minghui) that she would continue cultivation. As a result, she was sentenced to six years in prison, from May 2002 to May 2008. In prison, Ms. Shi was subjected to extensive mental and physical torture. She suffered from tuberculosis in the second half of 2006 and was taken to the Jianxin Prison Hospital in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province.
Practitioner Ms. Chen Yuxian was formerly an official at the Zhangzhou City Construction Bank. Since 1999, she had been placed under surveillance, taken to "study sessions," and sent to a labor camp. In 2003 and 2004, she refused to be "transformed" and was made to stand every day for half a year. Then she was ordered to squat down; she refused and went on a hunger strike. Ms. Chen was released 70 days later.
In September 2006, Ms. Chen chatted with others while taking a walk in Jiulong Park. She was taken into custody and sentenced to two years of forced labor. She has been held at the Fujian Province Women's Forced Labor Camp. The police also broke the door of her home to conduct a search.
38. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner Ms. Xing Guilan's Home Searched
Some time before May 8, officers searched practitioner Ms. Xing Guilan's home in Dengfeng Village in the Jingxia area of Daqing City. The officers took away two bags of Falun Dafa materials. Ms. Xing was not at home.
39. [Chongqing] Practitioners Ms. Yang Songli and Ms. Huang Huzhen Sent to Labor Camp
On the morning of May 5, practitioners Ms. Yang Songli and Ms. Huang Huzhen from Jiangbei District in Chongqing were clarifying the truth to students in the job market on Huaxin Street. They were taken to the Huaxin Street Police Station. The same afternoon, several officers from the police station, the Jiangbei District Police Department, and the State Security Unit went to Ms. Yang's home to conduct a search. The officers also forced her family member to sign the paperwork. That night, Ms. Yang Songli and Ms. Huang Huzhen were taken to the Jiangbei District Detention Center for fifteen days of detention.
On May 18, 2007, Ms. Yang and Ms. Huang were taken to the Shabao Women's Forced Labor Camp in Chongqing, each to serve a term of fifteen months.

It has been verified that practitioner Mr. Zhou Biao, a senior engineer in the Technical Office at the Trial Flights Station, affiliated with the Xifei Company in Yanliang District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, was arrested on May 5, 2007.
41. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner Mr. Li Yunbiao Arrested
Mr. Li Yunbiao, 30, is from Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. He is a technician at the New Petroleum Technology Qinglian Preservative Co. Ltd. in Daqing City. On around April 10, 2007, officers from the city police department took him away while he was at work.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Guo Songmei lives in the Biansanzhuang Village in Duancun Township, Anguo City, Hebei Province. On the morning of April 13, Ms. Guo saw from the window a car entering her courtyard. She immediately hid in a pile of chopped wood branches. Those who came out of the car looked for her and shouted her name. She did not make a sound. After they left, she noticed that everything remained intact in her home. Ms. Guo left town and no one was at her home. About three days later, when she returned from out of town, she found that the drawers and dressers had been thoroughly searched. Several Falun Dafa books and about 500 yuan in cash had been taken away. Her husband had been called to return home by the authorities.

Mr. Zhu Junhui, a practitioner from the Weishui area in Jingxing County, Hebei Province, went missing on the afternoon of May 7, 2007. He was last seen at the Weishui Agency, affiliated with the Jingxing County Irrigation Administration. According to those who were close to him, Mr. Zhu mentioned that he was questioned by officials of his work unit. No one has heard from him since.
Mr. Zhu had been taken to a brainwashing center in Shijiazhuang City in July 2005. It was the leaders of his work unit who deceived him and took him away.

Practitioner Ms. Lu Xiufeng, about 50, lived in Xiangyu Village in Yanzhuang Township, Liaocheng City, Shandong Province. She went to Beijing several times to validate the Fa after the persecution began on July 20, 1999. She was held in a labor camp for three years. Last week, a practitioner surnamed Liu (gender unknown) from the Yangzhuang area in Dachang District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province was turned in to the police for clarifying the truth. Officers from the Shanpan Police Station subsequently took him into custody. In addition, a production site of Falun Gong materials in the Chengnan area of Nanjing City was destroyed.

Li Xuejing (female), the school's principal, dismissed Ms. Wang from her role as class advisor and turned her in to the 610 Office. On the afternoon of May 21, 2007, police officers searched Ms. Wang's home, confiscating many Falun Dafa books and a personal computer. Ms. Wang has been taken to the 610 Office.

At around 7:00 p.m. on May 22, a black Santana vehicle without a license plate and another vehicle with a local plate number but without any police notations arrived at the home of a practitioner in Anyue County. Twenty or so police officers got out of the vehicles and surrounded the practitioner's home. The police took away 12,000 yuan in cash and deposit receipts and 6,000 yuan worth of equipment, including a personal computer, a printer and other items.
