(Clearwisdom.net) I live in an agricultural area, where there are more than a million farmers. Since 2006, I have been distributing materials to clarify the truth in the villages. At first I had a lot of human attachments. I was very anxious and felt the pressure was too much, as I faced more than 30 villages and towns with a population of more than a million.
Master teaches us in "Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People",
"For a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple, personal liberation is not the goal of cultivation: when you came, saving sentient beings was your great aspiration, and that is the responsibility and mission history has bestowed upon you in Fa-rectification. Thus great numbers of beings are to be saved by you. Dafa disciples, don't forsake the magnificent responsibility that has been bestowed upon you in Fa-rectification, and even less should you disappoint those beings, as you are now their only hope for entering the future. For this reason, all Dafa disciples, students both new and veteran, should get to work and begin comprehensively clarifying the truth. This is especially so for the Dafa disciples in Mainland China: each must come out and clarify the truth, bringing it to every field and valley, mountain and hill, not omitting a single area where there are people."
I became determined to save sentient beings in villages in late 2005, and I was determined to remain compassionate throughout the process. Each time I head out to distribute fliers, I study the map first to make sure I get to the right place. As I make my way around, I send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate evil factors interfering to prevent sentient beings from being saved. When I return, I prepare more materials, study the Fa, send forth righteous thoughts, and ask for Master's support before leaving again. It was very successful many times in the beginning.
However, as time went by, human attachments developed. Once, on the way to a village, a fierce dog tried to bite us while we were distributing fliers. Practitioner A wanted to run away immediately after hearing the dog bark, while fellow practitioner B had very strong righteous thoughts. She remained very steady and kept sending righteous thoughts. Fellow practitioner C thought that B had not noticed what was happening and complained about not leaving. In the process, C twisted her ankle. When we returned, we shared our understandings and realized that it was practitioner A's attachment of fear that had caused this. Practitioner A saw her problem and whenever she met similar situations later, she would erect her palm to send forth righteous thoughts. Once she erected her palm, the dogs would quickly stop barking.
Once at a village we came to a house relatively far from the town. There was light coming from the house and fellow practitioner D said, "Wait here for me, I'm going to deliver the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party to that house." The moment he dropped off the package, a dog came out and the owner of the house came out with a torch. Practitioner D pointed at the dog and said, "Don't bite me, I'm here to save your master, now go back inside." After he said this, both the dog and the owner returned to their home quietly.
Another time, practitioner D complained about how unsteady another practitioner was, and how she would definitely get into trouble if she did not follow us. He suggested that another practitioner lead her next time since we made a good team. However, the next time when these two practitioners went out, they lost their way. They distributed fliers at a village that we had already gone to, and could not find each other after walking for a very long time. The second day when they continued trying to find their way back, they were caught in a downpour. After returning, we shared our understandings and practitioner D realized that she had attachments to showing off, overzealousness, and finding fault with others, while I realized that using human notions to side with people and not pointing out attachments of other practitioners are also another manifestation of selfishness.
Once, when we were packing materials and were prepared to go, a practitioner came to tell us that the local Public Security Bureau recently dispatched a lot of people to security positions in villages and towns. There are spies everywhere and everyone gets paid 400 yuan a month. I was told not to move. However, I thought to myself that we're carrying out such a holy mission, so the evil must not be allowed to interfere. We always talk about negating the old forces, and if we stop doing our work once interference arrives, wouldn't it be accepting the old forces' arrangements? Master taught us in "Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston", "We're doing these things with our hearts, while they're doing things with money--they could never compare. The second day, we returned safely.
Another time, I was going down an unfamiliar road with another practitioner. It was a hot day and our arms were sunburned. We had already walked for an entire night. It was very tiring and we were hot and thirsty. A fellow practitioner asked, "Do you know why the persimmon we had today was so bitter?" I immediately realized that it was Master enlightening the two of us: Dafa disciples have to go through hardship. Sometimes after distributing fliers, the sky is still dark, and we would have to sit in the fields or under a tree until dawn. It would be cold and there were a lot of mosquitoes. Sometimes we'd have to walk many miles before there was a bus we could catch. Sometimes, we would get blisters on our feet. However, just thinking about how much Master has endured for us disciples to try to save us, I realized that what I suffered was so insignificant.
Later, a practitioner pointed out that I cannot simply do things myself, and I have to help practitioners in the villages to walk their own paths, too. Otherwise, with so many places, we wouldn't be able to distribute the Nine Commentaries everywhere in two years. We realized that Master has required us to improve as a whole. So, we tried our best to communicate and share with practitioners in the villages. The effect was very good. The practitioners there also realized that they have to do their part in the three things as well, and now, many of them have sprung into action.
Every time we return from distributing fliers, we would be very happy even though it was hard to go through, for we did what a Dafa disciple ought to do. Some practitioners say that going to distribute fliers is just like taking a holiday trip. Even though we say that we are saving sentient beings, the fact is, if not for Master's compassionate support, a sixty year-old lady would not even dare to walk so far in the dark, even without the evil's interference.
My enlightenment quality is not that good, but I feel that as long as Master tells us to do something, I have no reason not to do it well wholeheartedly. Today, I will be more diligent, cultivate away my human attachments and truly walk out of the human world. I will do well the three things that Master had taught us and follow Master home.
