Son Arrested, Elderly Mother Heart Broken

At about 3 p.m. on May 12, 2007, about a dozen police officers from the National Security Team, Longjing Police Bureau, Jilin City and from the Chaoyangchuan Police Station suddenly broke into Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Shi Qingsong's home in Badao Village, Chaoyangchuan Township. By force, they took him away and then ransacked his home. Police officers confiscated an old computer from Shi's home, claiming it as "evidence." Two days later, Shi was sentenced to a forced labor camp for eighteen months. Left alone in Shi's home were his bed-ridden sister and elderly mother.

Shi Qingsong, age 32, is currently illegally detained at the Shijing City Detention Center. Without Mr. Shi's help, his widowed mother now must take care of her daughter, who has been bed-ridden for many years, alone. While worrying about her son being detained, she has to find a way to financially support herself and her daughter. Because of the extreme pressure, she is extremely stressed, and her family situation has deteriorated even further.

Mr. Shi was also detained in a forced labor camp in 2002. He was surfing the Internet in an Internet Caf� when the person in charge of the caf� reported him. Police officers from the National Security Team in Longjing City arrested him, and he was illegally sentenced to one year at the Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in Jiutai of Jilin Province. There, Shi was subjected to torture, brainwashing and hard labor until 2003.

Since May when Shi was again arrested, his family has been very worried about his safety. They tried to visit him at the Longjing Detention Center, but the staff there refused to let them see him, saying that it was because Mr. Shi was still doing the five Falun Dafa exercises. The refusal to let them see Mr. Shi made his family worry about him even more.

During the past few years, because of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) hateful propaganda, many people who do not understand how the CCP has fabricated lies about Falun Dafa are used by the CCP to persecute practitioners who believe in "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance." In Shi's case, his neighbors assisted the police in persecuting Shi by monitoring him, under the direction of the secretary of the CCP Committee of Badao Village.

We ask that people with conscience help Mr. Shi to be reunited with his family and to end the brutal persecution of all Falun Dafa practitioners.
