Houston, Texas: Rally to Mark Eight Years of Resistance to Persecution Exposes CCP's Atrocities and Calls on Public to Awaken (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners have been peacefully resisting the persecution for eight years. On July 14, 2007, practitioners in Houston, Texas held a rally in Chinatown to expose the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) atrocities, condemn the trampling of human rights by the CCP, and call on the world's people to help stop the persecution.

On July 20, 1999, the CCP initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. The various inhumane means used by the CCP did not cause Falun Gong practitioners to compromise. In the eight years of resisting the persecution, practitioners kept clarifying the truth peacefully and rationally. More and more people now recognize the evil nature of the CCP.

Falun Gong practitioners follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in cultivation. Falun Gong has spread to over eighty countries, yet such a good practice is persecuted by the CCP. Facing persecution, Falun Gong practitioners do not yield, but instead step forward to expose the CCP atrocities.

At the rally, Mr. Huang first gave a speech, saying, "Under the CCP's brutal persecution for eight years, Falun Gong practitioners have protested the persecution peacefully and clarified the truth. However, many people are deceived by the CCP's propaganda. Some show indifference and some even assist the CCP in its persecution. Falun Gong practitioners spread the facts, risking their lives to save innocent people. In history, tyranny has never persevered. The disintegration of the CCP will occur in the near future. Since the publication of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party about three years ago, over twenty three million Chinese have recognized the evil nature of the CCP and quit the party and its affiliated organizations. The number of daily withdrawals is thirty to forty thousand. Everyone, please support the kind Falun Gong practitioners, condemn the CCP's atrocities and help stop the persecution."

Practitioner Ms. Wei narrated her experience in recognizing the CCP's lies. She said, "Eight years ago, on July 20, 1999, the CCP initiated the persecution of Falun Gong and used newspapers, TV and radio stations to slander Falun Gong. One slanderous program made me recognize the lies. I watched one CCP-controlled TV program, which showed video footage of Master Li, but the sound track was modified and one word was removed. On several occasions, Master Li stated that we do not talk about the end of the world. But in the CCP-controlled TV program, the word "not" was intentionally removed to slander Falun Gong. I suddenly realized that the CCP's TV and newspapers cannot be trusted. In late 2004, I read the Nine Commentaries and was moved, since all the history described in the CCP-controlled textbooks was wrong. In 2001, the CCP staged a self-immolation incident to slander Falun Gong, but in the video footage there were many suspicious points. One victim was burned on his face, but his hair was intact and the plastic bottle with gasoline between his legs was intact too. It was staged and designed to slander Falun Gong. After these questions were asked, the CCP TV removed the questionable pictures from the footage and continued to use it to deceive more people. We gather here today to help more people understand the facts and recognize the CCP's lies. The persecution is wrong. Falun Gong practitioners' truth-clarification is righteous."

Practitioner Mr. Liao said in his speech, "After economic reform, China's economy appeared prosperous. But the CCP's persecution of human rights has never stopped. On the contrary, the CCP now has more resources to persecute human rights. The CCP uses a quarter of China's national gross income to persecute Falun Gong. Much of the funds come from investment by other countries. Investments by western countries are used to persecute dissident and human rights activists. In recent years, CCP spy cases were reported one after another. Some Chinese organizations and student associations are controlled by the CCP for its political purposes. Some students at New York University interfered with NTDTV's International Chinese Classical Dance Competition and caused wide attention. Some former presidents of Chinese student associations have stepped forward and exposed the truth about the CCP's control."

Mr. Song said in his speech that the CCP not only conducts persecution of Falun Gong, but completely destroys Chinese traditional culture. He said, "Former CCP head Jiang Zemin initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. It violates international human rights covenants, and the Chinese Constitution. To safeguard human rights and law, the Global Coalition for Public Trial of Jiang Zemin was established. The perpetrators of the persecution, including Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Zhou Yingkang, and Liu Jing, have been sued in many countries. During eight years of resisting the persecution, Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful truth-clarification has helped more and more people learn the facts. During the past year, a performance troupe, the Divine Performing Arts, consisting of Falun Gong practitioners, conducted a global tour to promote traditional Chinese culture. NTDTV hosted the International Chinese Traditional Classical Dance Competition, which concluded on July 8, 2007 in New York. The dance competition was to promote Chinese classical dance and culture. During the fifty-eight years since the CCP took power, it has damaged traditional culture and instilled its own party culture into the Chinese people. Along with the renaissance of Chinese traditional culture, the CCP's party culture will disintegrate. We call on more Chinese people to clearly understand the Chinese traditional culture and the facts about Falun Gong, to ensure a bright future."

The rally in Chinatown was one of a series of activities opposing the persecution in Houston. The CCP lies to other countries. Some Chinese media carried the CCP's lies and deceived many Chinese people here. Practitioners continuously explain the facts to them. There are Falun Gong information sites in Chinatown, a practice site in a park, and a Service Center for Quitting the CCP, to present the facts to residents and Chinese people. Many have learned the facts from this rally and other events.
