(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Feng from Anguo City, the Baoding Region, Hebei Province was sentenced to 15 years in prison for broadcasting truth-clarification videos through local TV networks. He is presently being held at the No. 4 Prison in Shijiazhuang City and is being brutally tortured. He is becoming weaker and weaker. Toward the end of 2005, he developed coronary heart disease and high blood pressure and was in critical condition. His family wanted to have him released on medical parole but the prison authorities refused the request because he did not "reform."

Mr. Li Feng was arrested on October 4, 2002. It was previously said that Hebei Province officials had issued a secret order to arrest Falun Gong practitioners, and even to torture them to death. Police officers brutally beat Mr. Li in the Shifo Village Police Station and then transferred him to the Anguo City Police Department where he was was abused and tortured for five days to extort a so-called confession. Police officer Li Dongpu forced him to swallow an unknown drug which appeared to be a milky candy. This resulted in Mr. Li losing his hearing, his eyesight and his ability to think clearly. He was subsequently locked up in the Xushui Detention Center for a year.

In October 2003, seventeen practitioners were illegally sentenced to prison, including Li Feng (Anguo City), Zhang Liqun (Shenzhen City), Han Weixin (Anxin County), Li Aige (Xiong County), Zhang Yanqing (Gaobeidian City), Ma Zengjun (Xiong County), Wang Xianghui (Li County), Xie Shuhuan (Shenzhen City), Xie Xiugai (Anping County), Chen Shufen (Boye County), Xie Zhanfen (Renxiu City), Fu Shuling (Yi County), Niu Minjie (Shijiazhuang City), Zhao Weimin (Shijiazhuang City), Fan Qingjun (Shijiazhuang City), Guo Xiangyu (Xingtai City), and Zhang Fuming (Shenzhen City). All of these practitioners took part in a persecution-protest hunger strike.

Afterwards, Mr. Li Feng and three other practitioners were taken to the No. 4 Prison in Shijiazhuang City (also called the Beijiao Prison in Shijiazhuang City), and were made to suffer from the so-called "attacking the fortified" type of ""re"formation." Long-term brutal torture led to Mr. Li's mental collapse. In late 2005, he suffered from symptoms of panic attacks and shortness of breath. He had lost consciousness many times, once for 12 hours. He was diagnosed with severe symptoms of coronary heart disease and high blood pressure and was in critical condition.

Mr. Li's family went to the prison and requested his release on medical parole. The prison authorities refused their petition.

Between May and August 2002, Falun Gong practitioners had broadcast truth-clarification videos several times through local TV networks in Hengshui City, Baoding City and Changzhou City in Hebei Province. Those broadcasts included the videos "Witness," "The Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation" and "The Worldwide Dissemination of Falun Dafa," which allowed the local people to witness the beauty of Dafa and become much more aware of the brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, many Falun Gong practitioners have tried to appeal for justice for Falun Gong according to the law. Nevertheless, they have been handcuffed and fined, their homes have been ransacked, and they have been sent to forced labor camps. They have been deprived of their basic human rights. They chose to clarify the facts by the means of distributing fliers, showing videos and putting up posters.

Facing the national propaganda machinery's rampant slander and lies, practitioners know that broadcasting truth-clarification videos plays a crucial role. On January 30, 2001, the CCTV Focal Point Interview broadcast the fabricated "Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation" mockery to incite people into hating Falun Gong.

In addition, Jiang Zemin issued a secret order regarding Falun Gong practitioners: "Beating Falun Gong practitioners to death can be done without being held responsible," "The deaths of Falun Gong practitioners due to torture will be counted as suicide," and "After beating Falun Gong practitioners to death, the prisons and labor camps don't need to check their identities before cremation."

Uncounted practitioners were continuously persecuted, and died as a result of persecution. That is the reason why some practitioners began broadcasting Falun Gong truth-clarifying videos so that people could learn the truth about Falun Gong and no longer be deceived by the CCP. They had neither a personal goal, nor had they been commanded or incited by others. Their sole purpose was to expose the CCP's lies and call on all people to help stop the persecution, so as to avoid more cruel persecution. Their courageous, rational behavior moved heaven and earth.

Falun Gong practitioners' broadcasting of truth-clarification videos through local TV networks is a compassionate action. It is also a legal behavior based on the rights of freedom of belief and expression. Jiang Zemin's regime operates outside of the Constitution and national laws. The CCP has no lawful basis to declare Falun Gong as evil, and its claim has not been identified by any legal procedure. The CCP has never had a lawful basis to persecute Falun Gong practitioners.

Falun Gong practitioners follow the basic principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, which contributes much benefit and no harm to the society and country. During the eight-year period during which the CCP has persecuted Falun Gong, Falun Gong has widely spread to over eighty countries and regions. Freedom of belief includes citizens' freedom of belief and freedom of religious development. Governments have no right to define a righteous religion or an evil organization; otherwise, atheistic governments could define any religions as evil organizations. It is completely unlawful to base their persecution on the governmental internal stipulation or judicial explanation. It is simply Jiang Zemin's regime that breaks the law.

The current laws in China are just a club that the CCP uses to beat people. They can accuse anyone they want and persecute any individual. The CCP can stipulate any policies at will. When the policies are not applicable, they issue internal documents or secret orders. The CCP always propagates that all the persecutions they start are lawful, but accuses everyone they don't like as a lawbreaker, including dissidents, citizens who lost their private houses through the officials' unlawful occupancy, unemployed workers, peasants who lost territories, and especially Falun Gong practitioners. All are described as breaking the law when they appeal.

As an old saying puts it, persisting in evil brings self-destruction. The more madness the CCP displays now, the more it goes against the tide, and the more it reveals its upcoming demise. The persecution of Falun Gong was destined to fail from its inception and it will end in ignominy. Human history is proof that justice will prevail over evil.
