Washington DC: Falun Gong Practitioners Clarify the Facts (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 19, 2007, Falun Gong practitioners who came from all over the world to attend the activity--"Dissolving the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) - Ending the Persecution" in Washington D.C., clarified the facts of Falun Gong in small groups at every subway entrance in the D.C. area.

The reporter interviewed practitioner Ms. Dong, who started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. Due to the persecution, she escaped to Thailand in 2001. Three years later, she came to America as a United Nations refugee. Ms. Dong said that she witnessed many Falun Gong practitioners being tortured. She was very happy that she could attend the activity and looks forward to seeing the CCP's demise. She said she believed that more and more Chinese people are willing to learn the facts about Falun Gong now, and some Chinese have quit the CCP with her help.

Ms. Zheng is from Hawaii. She passed out truth-clarifying materials in Chinatown. She started practicing Falun Gong before the persecution began. This is her fourth time attending the "7.20" activities in Washington D.C. She said that clarifying the facts in Washington D.C., where a lot of government officials work, can help the practitioners in China.

"People are Changing"

Ms. Huang from Germany went to a restaurant after the activity. The owner of the restaurant saw her yellow T-shirt with "Falun Dafa" written on it, and asked her if the practitioners would hold a parade the next day. The owner told Ms. Huang that the parade went by her restaurant every year, and that she and her employees enjoyed watching it. Ms. Huang talked with her and eventually convinced her to quit the party.

Many practitioners said that people in Washington D.C. are changing, and more and more people are willing to learn the facts about Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang from D.C. said, "Previously, many Chinese people refused to talk to us or accept materials from us. But now, the situation is different. Due to the efforts of practitioners from all over the world, the Chinese people have changed their attitude toward us. They are now polite to us. People even bring us drinks when we are clarifying the truth on the street. The policemen also support us."

"I hope that we don't have to hold any activities opposing the persecution next year."

Mr. Lu from Indonesia said, "The persecution has been going on for eight years. I hope it will end as soon as possible, and we don't have to hold any activities opposing the persecution next year." Mr. Lu told the reporter that the Indonesian people also know about the persecution, and many Indonesian media reported on the CCP's organ harvesting. "Although some people interfere with Falun Gong practitioners for their own interest," he said, "most people support Falun Gong in Indonesia."

A group of practitioners from Britain told the reporter that they come every year to Washington D.C. to clarify the truth. They were glad to see that so many congressmen and government officials oppose the persecution and support the practitioners. Mr. Zhu said, "The most impressive thing about the rally today was that people from all social classes support us. They all know about the persecution very well. Their speeches were very touching. When most of the world's people are like this, then the CCP will crash down, and the persecution will end."
