After Being Detained for Three Years in Fujian Province Women's Forced Labor Camp, Quan Saizhu Is Still Being Persecuted by the 610 Office

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Quan Saizhu was illegally arrested by officers from the Fujian Province 610 Office, the police department and the provincial prison system. She was sentenced to three years of forced labor. After her release on April 20, 2007, she was frequently threatened and harassed by police officers and could not return home.

Ms. Quan Saizhu is from Luoyuan County, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. Fuzhou City Police Department officers searched Ms. Quan's home on February 10, 2004. Ye Zhaosen, Chen Tong, and a dozen others from the First Division of Fuzhou City Police Department broke into her residence and ransacked it.

After Ms. Quan was arrested, officers Ye Zhaosen, Chen Tong and others brutally beat her, attempting to extort a confession from her. When she was reasoning with them, the police chief of the special team, Wu Pinyu, and Huang Xiaoyan taped her mouth shut. When they pulled the tape off later, skin was pealed off as well.

The Women's Forced Labor Camp guards used various torture methods to persecute Ms. Quan. Prison guards Wu Pinyu, Huang Xiaoyan, Xue Yunping, Xiao Hongying, Shao Hongbin, Huan Can, Zhou Rong, Chu Xinxin, Zheng long, Lin Ling, and Chen Xiaodong deprived her of sleep. They forced her to stand for a long period of time and verbally abused her and brutally beat her. In addition, they ordered criminal inmates to beat her. She was forced to do hard labor daily for over 10 hours and the prison doctors drew blood from her against her will. When her term was over, the officials would not release her and detained her for 67 more days. They did not return her personal items when she was released. The items included a computer and a leather bag.

When she was in the labor camp, Ms. Quan's personal freedom and basic human rights were taken away. To protest this persecution, she refused to eat. The guards would frequently order the doctors to pry open her mouth with a mouth opener (a stainless steel tool that looks like a meat grinder). They would pry open her teeth and then insert a stainless steel spoon into her throat. Her throat would bleed. After that, they would insert a tube into her throat to brutally force-feed her. Sometimes, they would insert the tube through her nose to torture her.

Ms. Quan's forced labor term expired on February 23, 2007. However, the labor camp officials did not release her; instead they detained her until April 20, 2007. Ms. Quan Saizhu was illegally detained for 67 more days, during which time the Provincial Justice Department's Reeducation Through Forced Labor Bureau initiated a statement to extend her term, based on Fujian Provincial Amendment [2007] Number 006. However, the statement only recorded that her term was extended for 24 days. The remaining 43 days were not recorded. The statement was dated January 29, 2007, yet it was not delivered until the end of February 2007, after the term had been extended.

The day she was released from the labor camp, Ms. Quan Saizhu was escorted by agents of the 610 Office of Luoyuan County, Fuzhou City. After returning home, she still did not have any personal freedom. The local policemen frequently harassed her. They made it very hard for her family to live a normal life so she decided to go into exile and became destitute and homeless.
