Ms. Li Hongping Tortured and Coerced Into a Confession by Police in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province


(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Hongping is an employee of the Second Property Company of China Petroleum & Petrochemical Co., Lanzhou City Branch. On May 14, 2007, four police officers went to the Lintao Street Garage where she worked, and arrested her. That same night, Ms. Li was tortured and coerced into a confession. She was forced to sit on a tiger bench, and to "hang up in the air." (1)

After she was brutally tortured at the Lanzhou City Police Department, she was transferred to the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center and again tortured. The officers at the brainwashing center also ordered her employer to pay 3000 yuan for a so called "transformation" fee.

Ms. Li Hongping's husband Mr. Zhao Xudong, also a practitioner, was arrested by spies from the Lanzhou City State Security Bureau on February 5, 2004. He died as a result of torture at the Lanzhou City Second Detention Center. Ms. Li's mother-in-law, Ms. Bai Jinyu, was tortured to the point of becoming disabled by spies at the Lanzhou City State Security Bureau and was sentenced to prison.
