Ms. Ma Linqin Partially Paralyzed from Torture by Police in Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province

(Clearwisdom.net) In March, 2002 in Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province, Ms. Wang Liqin was arrested while posting truth-clarification materials. She was then taken to the Second Detention Center. Ten days later, she was picked up by her son; however, due to being tortured so brutally, she had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. Doctors had to operate, but after the operation, one side of her body was paralyzed, and she could not talk.

Ms. Ma Liqin, 51 years old, was an employee of the Coal Prospecting Team in Qitaihe City. Around 1998, she started to practice Falun Gong. Her high blood pressure vanished soon after she began her cultivation.

In March 2002, she was reported by an unknown person for posting truth-clarifying materials. As a result, she was taken to the local Dongfeng police station. When her son came to pick her up, he saw that her head, legs and feet were badly injured and she was unconscious. The police deceived him and told him that his mother was asleep. He carried her to the car and found she was badly tortured.

Immediately, he sent her to the hospital, as she was bleeding from the head. His family borrowed 50,000 yuan for an operation. Ms. Linqing was then in a coma for 18 days. She could not move and could not talk. Once in a while, she tried to cry. The local police extorted 2000 yuan more from the family. They also stole the family's deed to their home, but they returned everything later because they learned that her injury was worse than originally believed, so they became scared.

Her angry family went to the police department and the Second Detention Center and sued according to the law. However, the Communist Party members used their power to let the blame fall on their subordinates. Later, the party members took it a step further and threatened her family.
