By Kerry Huang, Clearwisdom reporter from San Francisco
(Clearwisdom.net) Regarding the incident that the Hong Kong government
blocked the estimated 1,000 Falun Gong practitioners and ordinary people from
entering Hong Kong by means of denying visas, not allowing to board, forcibly
and violently deporting and other means prior to July 1, on July 2, 2007, a
number of Falun Gong practitioners in the Bay Area of San Francisco went to Hong
Kong Economic Office in San Francisco to petition, calling on the Hong Kong
government not to follow the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to persecute Falun
Gong, and harm Hong Kong's future. San Francisco Falun Gong practitioners call
on Hong Kong not follow the CCP to persecute Falun Gong and ruin Hong Kong's
future
From June 24 to July 1, 2007, Hong Kong authorities blocked the estimated
1,000 Falun Gong practitioners and other passengers from Taiwan, Australia,
Philippines and Macao from entering Hong Kong by means of refusing to issue
visas, not allowing to board and forcible and violent deportation. More than 800
Taiwanese Falun Gong practitioners have been confirmed to have been denied
entries. Falun Gong practitioner Lu Hui said that this is the largest scale and
the most violent incident of deportation of Falun Gong practitioners and human
rights violation since the CCP took over Hong Kong ten years ago. Representative of Hong Kong's Economic Office in San Francisco Patric met
with Lu Hui outside the office. Lu Hui explained to him about the Hong Kong's
deportation incident that violates human rights. Lu Hui pointed out that Hong
Kong is a democratic place, should not have such a thing occur, which will ruin
Hong Kong's image. Patric said that he had not learned about this matter. He would pass Falun
Gong's message back to Hong Kong. Steve, representing Falun Gong practitioners, said that the violent
deportation incident is a big international human rights scandal that was
concocted by Zeng Qinghong, vice-president of the CCP in charge of Hong Kong
affairs. It took place prior to Hu Jintao's visit to Hong Kong, its purpose was
to force Hu to bear the blame for persecuting Falun Gong and drag down Hu and
Hong Kong government into an awkward situation. Steve called on the Hong Kong government not to comply with the CCP, or
assist it in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. This harms Hong Kong's image
and ruins Hong Kong's future.
