Ms. Zhang Chunfang Dies as a Result of Torture in Beijing Women's Prison
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Chunfang from Beijing
was detained in the Beijing Women's Prison for a three-year term which began in
2005. After being unconscious for more than ten days inside the Beijing Prison
Management Hospital, she died on June 15, 2007. Ms. Zhang Chunfang, 54, lived in Liangxiang Town, Fangshan District, Beijing.
She started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996, and her many ailments were healed.
When Falun Dafa was being slandered, she went to the Government Appeals Office
and was detained multiple times. Facing the tribulations that the Chinese
Communist Party pressed upon Falun Dafa, she quietly passed out fliers made with
her low income, trying to save sentient beings by clarifying the
truth. In the beginning of 2004, Ms. Zhang Chunfang was reported while passing out
fliers. She was subsequently arrested and her home was ransacked by police
officers from the Fangshan District Department. She was secretly detained
because the police officers thought she was a "significant person."
Her family learned where she was only after she had been sentenced to her prison
term. Because she was not allowed to do the Falun Gong exercises and because the
guards mentally and physically tortured her, Ms. Zhang appeared to have many
illness symptoms, such as high blood pressure, cerebral thrombosis, one side of
her body going numb, nausea and vomiting. However, the Prison Administration
refused to release her and kept her detained for committing the so-called
"crime" of "undermining the law." After Ms. Zhang Chunfang passed away, the Prison Administration tried to
prevent her family from seeing her body. Beijing Women's Prison address: Runhe Lane-3, Huifeng Street, Qingfeng Ave,
