Australia: Falun Gong Practitioners in Melbourne Protest the Violent Deportations in Hong Kong and Support New Lawsuit Against Jiang (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners in Melbourne held a press conference in front of the Chinese Consulate in Melbourne from 10:00 a.m. to noon on July 3, 2007. They protested the Hong Kong government using a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) blacklist to deport Falun Gong practitioners who went to participate in the July 1 parade in Hong Kong. They also expressed their support of Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners' lawsuit against Jiang Zemin and his assistants for persecuting Falun Gong.

Practitioners in Melbourne protest the Hong Kong government violently deporting Falun Gong practitioners.

The spokesperson for the Falun Dafa Association in Victoria read aloud a statement in both Chinese and English. The statement said that on the tenth anniversary of Hong Kong returning to China, the Hong Kong government strictly denied entries of overseas Falun Gong practitioners who went to join the parade based on a blacklist provided by the CCP. As of July 1, 2007, close to one thousand Taiwanese Falun Gong practitioners had been deported, forbidden to board their flights or denied visas. Those deported included practitioners from Taiwan, Australia, the Philippines and Macao. This is a human rights case involving the largest and the most violent deportation since Hong Kong was returned to China.

The spokesperson also gave an update on lawsuits against Jiang. Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners Chu O Ming and Fu Hsueying filed a civil lawsuit against former head of the CCP Jiang Zemin, former Prime Minister Li Lanqing, and member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau Luo Gan for torture, damage, illegal imprisonment and abuse of power, and requested compensation.

Besides the lawsuits in Hong Kong, lawyers in seventeen countries, including Australia, Spain, U.K. Denmark, Belgium, France, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, etc. have filed lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, and Chinese officials Li Lanqing, Luo Gan and others. In thirty countries, more than fifty lawsuits have been filed against Chinese officials who actively persecuted Falun Gong.

Practitioners pointed out at the press conference that the manipulator of the deportation was Zheng Qinghong, who has attempted to turn Falun Gong against Hu Jintao and to force Hu to stand on the side of the perpetrators.

Falun Gong practitioners called for people of conscience under the CCP's power to see clearly the evil nature of the CCP, join the strong tide of quitting the CCP and choose a bright future for themselves.

Visa applicants at the Chinese Consulate were attracted by the banners and speech, and many people read the brochures distributed by Falun Gong practitioners after they left the Consulate.
