Practitioner Mr. Zhang Pengzhu, who has been unlawfully held in Division No. 5 at the Panjin Prison, is on hunger strike protesting the persecution. A section leader has issued orders to escalate the persecution.

On March 23, 2007, Zhan (male), head of the reconnaissance section of the Huzhu County Police Department in Qinghai Province, and a dozen or so police and state security officers arrived in police vehicles at practitioner Mr. Jin Chengyu's home. The police unlawfully searched Mr. Jin's home and confiscated 10,800 yuan in cash, a silver bracelet, a vase, a satellite dish, a printer, and other items. Mr. Jin Chengyu's family went to the police and state security agency asking for the return of their personal property but to no avail.

It was learned that about 300 Falun Gong practitioners at the China Carrier Rocket Technology Institute have been registered on a list by officials of the institute. Recently, Zhang Zhigui (male), the institute's newly appointed head of the 610 Office, has been planning on taking practitioners in various subordinate work units to places such as the Zhazidong Prison in Chongqing for brainwashing. Practitioners will be forced to write reports reflecting what "changes" they went through during brainwashing upon returning.

On May 10, 2007, Mr. Xu Mingxiong, a practitioner from Chaozhou City, was forcibly taken into custody by Zhang Haohua and Cheng Chuangchao from the Xiangqiao District Police Department. Mr. Xu is being unlawfully held at the Chaozhou City Detention Center. The police broke into Mr. Xu's home, forcibly searched the place, and stole cash among other items.

Mr. Xu Mingxiong has been unlawfully detained several times. After he was released from the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp, he was not able to find a job. He could hardly support his family by operating a small booth that sells items from convenience stores. His wife and son had both been unlawfully held in custody for practicing Falun Gong.

Between April and early May 2007, the 610 Office, the state security division and local police in the Leshan area launched several campaigns to unlawfully detain numerous practitioners and search their homes. The police have confiscated personal computers, accessories, and other personal property. Based on their initial report, Ms. Hao Xiu, Mr. Jia Shun, Mr. Wang Yongguo, Ms. Liu Suzhi, and Ms. Huang Shuhua are among the practitioners who have been detained. They are being held in various detention centers in the Shawan, Emei, and Leshan areas.

At the end of May and beginning of June 2007, Ms. Tao Rong was on a business trip in Hainan Province. She went missing in Qionghai City, Hainan Province. Her husband, Mr. Zhang Chundong, went to Hainan Province in search for his wife. Unfortunately, Mr. Zhang has gone missing as well.

Ms. Yuan Xuemei, a practitioner at Beijing Normal University, was unlawfully taken into custody on May 14, 2007. She has been held at the Qinghe Detention Center in Haidian District, Beijing.

On May 31, 2007, five officers from the Baokang County Police Department led by Chen Shihua (male) unlawfully took into custody practitioner Mr. Chen Chuanzhi. The officers also confiscated Falun Dafa materials from his home.

Practitioner Ms. Zhao Shuli is a cashier at the Qinghe Plaza in Haidian District, Beijing. Before May 1, 2007, officers from the Qinghe Police Station took the excuse that they received reports from informants and unlawfully searched Ms. Zhao's home. The officers did not find any so-called evidence despite the fact that they ransacked the place. The police officers still forcibly took Ms. Zhao Shuli away several days later with no evidence whatsoever.

Recently, practitioner Ms. Zhai Huiling, who lives at the No. 9 Yard on North Wanyuan Road, in the Donggaodi area in Fengtai District, Beijing, has again been unlawfully taken into custody. Ms. Zhai is being held at the Guangfeng Hotel, a brainwashing facility in Fengtai District that is used for persecution.

Ms. Liu Xiufen, 54, is from Shiyingzi Township in Longcheng District, Chaoyang County. Ms. Liu was unlawfully sent to forced labor camp three times in the past few years for clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. She spent over five years in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. She was released at the end of 2006. On May 18, 2007, she went to the Appeals Office in Beijing to clarify the truth and was unlawfully taken into custody again. Ms. Liu is being unlawfully held at the Hetao Detention Center in the Shijia area in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province.

On May 18, 2007, Mr. Li Qinjun, a practitioner from Xingyang City, was taken into custody by the city's 610 Office and the State Security Division again. His family went to demand his release, and he was released the same night.

At around 10:00 a.m. on June 11, Mr. Li was taken into custody again by Yan Feng (male) from the State Security Division and members of the 610 Office. Mr. Li Qinjun is being held at the Sanlizhuang Detention Center.

On the evening of June 11, 2007, Ms. Jin Hua, a Falun Gong practitioner working at the No. 3 People's Hospital in Jimo City, was unlawfully arrested by patrolling police while she was placing truth-clarifying banners near the Jimo Development Zone.

In addition, Ms. Song Xiaotang, a practitioner from Tianheng Town who was unlawfully arrested on June 3, has been taken to the Qingdao Detention Center. She is on hunger strike protesting the persecution.

Ms. Sun Suling, about 40 years old, is a practitioner from Landi Town in Pingdu City, Shandong Province. At around 11:00 a.m. on June 11, 2007, the police broke into Ms. Sun's home. The officers forcibly dismounted her home's satellite dish and took it away. At around 7:30 p.m. on June 13, twenty or so police officers from Pingdu City arrived in five vehicles. Upon seeing this, Ms. Sun Suling ran to her mother-in-law's home. Soon after she got there, the officers found her and dragged her into the police vehicle. Her whereabouts are unknown.

On June 12, 2007, officers from the Dongchang District Police Department in Tonghua City arrived at the Tonghua City Infectious Diseases Hospital to unlawfully arrest Ms. Li Xiuying. Ms. Li, who works at the hospital, managed to escape.

At around 11:00 a.m. on June 12, 2007, Ms. Jiang Chunxiang, a practitioner in the jurisdiction of the Luocheng Neighborhood Administration in Shouguang City, was unlawfully taken into custody by officers from the Shouguang City Police Department and the local police station.

On June 11, 2007, Sun Taiyu (gender unknown) and other officers from the Shuyu Town Police Station and the Qian'an County Police Department's state security division arrived at Ms. Rong Chunling's home. Ms. Rong is a teacher at the Shuyu Town Central School. The officers illegally arrested Ms. Rong, who had been home for forty days after being held in a labor camp for a year. Ms. Rong Chunling is being held at the Qian'an County Detention Center.

On the evening of June 10, 2007, Liaocheng City police officers forcibly took into custody Ms. Zhu Hongxia, who owns a tailor shop, and another practitioner Ms. Liu (given name unknown).

At around 6:00 p.m. on June 12, 2007, practitioner Mr. Min Daqing, 28, was forcibly taken to a brainwashing center in the Yimin area from his home in Yitulihe Town, Yakeshi City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

On May 5, 2007, practitioner Ms. Liu Yan was taken into custody by officers from the Mudanjiang City Railroad Police Division, Wang Guicheng (male, Chief of the State Security Division in Bin County), and Liu Zhongzheng (male, from the Ningyuan Police Station). Ms. Liu Yan's aunt was unlawfully arrested by the Mudanjiang City Railroad Police Division for carrying Falun Dafa books and truth-clarifying DVD's. Ms. Liu's aunt is not a practitioner, and she has cancer. Ms. Liu Yan's whereabouts are unknown.

Practitioners Mr. Shi Guoliang, Ms. Wang Fuxia, Ms. Yang Defang, and Mr. Gao Weixi from Changchun City were taken into custody on May 9. On June 11, officers from the Nanguan District Police Department notified Mr. Shi Guoliang's family that he had been "officially placed under arrest and charges were being brought up at the Procuratorate." It has been learned that other practitioners who were taken into custody together with Mr. Shi have also been placed under arrest. Charges against them have been filed at the Procuratorate.

Ms. Yang Guoying, in her forties, is a practitioner from Helong Township in Donggang City, Liaoning Province. On March 3, 2007, she was reported to the police while she was in a farm market persuading others to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations. She was unlawfully arrested by the police on her way home. Ms. Yang is being held at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for persecution. The police searched her home but did not find anything.

Zeng Xianqiang (male), head of a five-person leadership group in Jingkou Town, Shapingba District in charge of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, has stepped up surveillance on practitioners. Mr. Zhao Jiayu and half a dozen other practitioners have been followed.

Recently, when Mr. Wang Jisheng, a practitioner from Linyi City, went to ask for a client's payment, he brought with him truth-clarifying materials for the client. However, his client turned him in to the police. As a result, Mr. Wang was unlawfully taken into custody. In addition, practitioner Ms. Xu Mengheng was also taken into custody. Both practitioners are being held at the Linyi Detention Center.

Practitioner Ms. Zhu Huani was unlawfully taken into custody while she was clarifying the truth and distributing materials in Wanjin Town. She is being held at the Luohe Detention Center.

Several years ago, practitioners Ms. Yan Xueli, Ms. Chen Aihua, Ms. Xie Aihong, Mr. Shao Zhangyu, and Ms. An Fulian were taken into custody. Ms. Yan Xueli and Ms. Chen Aihua were each unlawfully sentenced to three years of forced labor and taken to the Shibalihe Women's Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Xie Aihong has returned home. Mr. Shao Zhangyu and his wife Ms. An Fulian are being held at the Luohe Detention Center. Practitioner Ms. Dong Yuzhen has been forced to leave town and doesn't have a place to live.

On June 12, 2007, officials from the Ganhechen Township's government and members of the local residential committees went to the homes of practitioners whose names are on file to coerce them to write repentance statements.

Practitioners Ms. Zhou Fengqing, Ms. Liu Li and Ms. Guo Xiangrong from Zhaodong City remain in custody at the Zhaodong City Detention Center. On June 5, 2007, members of the Zhaodong City 610 Office took practitioner Mr. Sun Hongbo to the same detention center. Numerous practitioners have been forced to leave town and don't have any place to stay.

On the evening of June 7, members of the 610 Office unlawfully took into custody Ms. Chen Rong and Mr. Liu Guoxing, both of whom are practitioners in Panzhihua City. The two practitioners are being held in Xichang City. After Ms. Chen was taken away, her husband, who is ill, and their 1-year-old daughter have been left unattended. Her husband's illness has become worse as well.

The unlawful 15-day detention of practitioner Ms. Zhou Yufen from Wuhan City was supposed to end on June 13. When Ms. Zhou's family went to the detention center to take her home, they learned that the detention center officials postponed processing the paperwork for her release. It was after 9 o'clock when Ms. Zhou's mother, Ms. Liu Meilan, spotted two female guards with Ms. Zhou in the back seat of a police vehicle. She stepped out to stop the vehicle and demand the release of her daughter. She was dragged away. The guards thought someone next to Ms. Zhou's mother, who had a cellular phone, was taking pictures. They rushed to him, grabbed him by the throat, and pushed him into a flowerbed. The cellular phone was broken, and the police car sped away.

On March 16, 2007, officials in the Chaoyang Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City used extending forced labor terms and transferring to other labor camps to persecute ten practitioners, including Mr. Cui Zhuyou, Mr. Yang Jun, and Mr. Chu Guiyan. The ten practitioners' terms have been extended by six months. They have been transferred to the Fenjin Forced Labor Camp and the Weizigou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City.

Ms. Wang Lijun, a practitioner working at the Dalian Shipyard, was unlawfully taken into custody while she was at work by officials of the shipyard's Party committee and officers from the Haijun Square Police Station on June 8, 2007.

At around 10:00 p.m. on June 1, 2007, Feng Zhiheng (male) and other officers from the Longgang Town Police Station in Linqu County went to Sujiazhuang Village. The officers ransacked Mr. Su Lichun's home, took possession of her cash and other personal property, and forcibly took Mr. Su Lichen and two elderly women into custody.

On the morning of June 1, 2007, Mr. Liu Lixin, a practitioner in Longgang Town in Linqu County, was working in the Sujiazhuang Village Farm Market. Suddenly, officers from the Linqu County Police Department and the Longang Town Police Station took him into custody. Mr. Liu was transferred to the county detention center the same afternoon.

Ms. Zhang Zongsu and her husband Mr. Li Guocai are elderly practitioners who have retired. On April 26, 2007, six plainclothes police officers forced their way into Ms. Zhang and Mr. Li's home. The officers confiscated a personal computer, printer, and other items. They also forcibly took Ms. Zhang, Mr. Li, and their non-practitioner son to the Diaoyutai Police Station. Ms. Zhang and Mr. Li were later placed under detention by the North Tangshan Road Police Department's state security division, and they are being held at the Tangshan City No. 1 Detention Center.

So far, the authorities have not permitted their family members to visit the practitioners. Ms. Zhang Zong has been abstaining from food and water for over a month. She has been force-fed twice a day. The police are charging her family 50 yuan for each force-feeding.

On June 12, 2007, Ms. Zeng Xian'e from Jiayu County and another practitioner, whose name is unknown, were taken into custody. The police confiscated a bag of truth-clarifying materials from Ms. Zeng's home.

Ms. Li Mingju, a practitioner from Wei County in Hebei Province, was taken to the Zhangjiakou City Detention Center by the Wei County State Security police and members of the 610 Office. Ms. Li went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The State Security Division, the 610 Office, and the Wei County Procuratorate unlawfully brought up charges against Ms. Li. Her case has been sent to the Wei County Court.

On the afternoon of June 13, 2007, Ms. Chen Shiyu, a practitioner from Chengdu City in Sichuan Province, was reported when passing truth clarifying materials by an older man in a residential community in the Caojiaxiang area. After the man dialed the 110 police number, officers from the Caojiaxiang Police Station illegally arrested Ms. Chen.

Ms. Chen's husband is paralyzed and bedridden. Their granddaughter is in kindergarten and needs to be accompanied on her way to and from the kindergarten center.

Ms. Zhang Cuimian, a practitioner from Xixihou Village in Lichengdao Township, Wuji County, Hebei Province, has been unlawfully taken into custody. She is being held at the Haidian District Detention Center in Beijing.

At around 3:00 p.m. on June 11, 2007, the police forced their way into Ms. Wang Cong's home in Dayao Village in the Xiangdia area in Pingdu City, Shandong Province. The officers took self-adhesive stickers worth over 1,000 yuan, Falun Dafa books, and other materials. The police also searched homes of practitioners Ms. Yu Guimei and Mr. Zhang Zhenhua, confiscating Falun Dafa books and materials.
