Liaoning Province Second Prison Guards Still Committing Crimes of Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Around May 1, 2007, as Chief of the Fifth Ward of the Liaoning Province Second Prison Meng Qinggang was directing guards, including Wu Xia and Li Bo, to search prison cells, they took away practitioners Mr. Zhang Peng and Mr. Li Shujun's Dafa books and appeal materials. Afterwards, Zhang Peng went to find Meng Qinggang several times to ask him to return the books and materials. However, Meng said, "Falun Gong practitioners' appeal letters are contraband and must be destroyed." Mr. Zhang Peng sent letters reporting this matter to the prison and the Procuratorate authorities many times, but to no avail.

Before this, Mr. Zhang was once beaten by two criminals because he persisted in studying the Fa. His ribs were badly injured and possibly broken, and he still has not recovered. The prison authorities did not take Mr. Zhang to the hospital or punish the people who beat him.

On June 13, 2007, Meng Qinggang was searching prison cells with the other guards again. He attempted to take away practitioner Zhang Peng's Dafa books again, but Mr. Peng protected the books with all his strength. Meng Qinggang then ordered three or four guards, including Wu Xia and Li Bo, to take the books by force. They saw that Mr. Zhang would not give them up, so they beat him.

Zhang Peng loudly protested, "What reason do you have to beat me? Falun Dafa practitioners are good people; you cannot treat us like this!" The guards not only took away the books, they also put Mr. Zhang into solitary confinement.

Zhang Peng went on hunger strike in the solitary confinement chamber for a long period of time. He is now being punitively force-fed.

On the afternoon of June 21, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Huang Gang, who was also illegally imprisoned at the Liaoning Province Second Prison, hung a placard on the window to support Zhang Peng and to protest the illegal persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. Mr. Huang also shouted loudly: "Falun Dafa is good! We are not guilty, let us go home!"

Before long, many guards came to take Huang Gang to the "Strict Monitoring" Ward. On the way, Mr. Huang loudly shouted "Falun Dafa is good!"

We appeal to kind people to pay attention to this matter and condemn and investigate the crimes of guard Meng Qinggang.
