Never Giving in to Greed While Handling Billions of Yuan

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Falun Gong practitioner who began cultivation at the beginning of 1998. Since then I have been steadfast in my faith. I have been able to validate the Fa with dignity these past few years.

Prior to obtaining the Fa, I didn't make much money, but I handled huge sums of money as part of my job. Some people always said to me, "Never mind that you don't make much salary. There are plenty of chances to make up for it." They were referring to the many chances I had of accepting bribes. This kind of environment made me succumb to moral corruption, step by step. Greed, jealousy, competing with others, and other selfish and negative motives and cravings filled my brain. I was indeed in a sad state. But once I began cultivation, I did things according to the principles taught in "Zhuan Falun". I got rid of ordinary people's notions and strove to follow the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance". After reading the Dafa books, I was able to overcome the attachment of greed. No matter what people gave me, I would absolutely refuse to accept it. I made a pledge in my mind not to accept a single penny from customers, rides in customers' cars, or free meals that they offered.

I took this promise to myself seriously, and took each incident of returning customers' monetary "gifts" as a good opportunity to explain the facts about Falun Gong. Because I took care of my customers' interests by following Dafa's principles, some customers were very much moved. They would give me gifts, but I refused to accept them. They would then put the gift in my desk drawer while I was not there. After finding it, I would still return it to them in any way possible.

In today's China, many people simply cannot fathom my behavior. After seeing this firsthand several times, some of them said, "We have come to truly trust you! It would be superb if everyone practiced Falun Gong." Some also joked and said, "You don't accept a whole year's worth of monetary 'gifts'. You are giving up buying a house!" I explained that Dafa is the reason for my having a different attitude. A manager from another department said to me, "I heard that you cannot be bribed, no matter what, and that you wouldn't accept anyone's gifts. Why is that?" I told him the facts about Falun Gong and explained the link to my behavior. He said, "From what I can tell, the cultivation you are practicing will certainly recover its reputation!"

In the process of getting rid of this attachment, I was able to earn the trust of my co-workers, management, and clients, and in turn this led

them to have the correct attitude about Dafa.

Explaining the facts became easy, and they accepted what I had to say. Having practiced Dafa for those years, I have eliminated many of my attachments. Compassion has filled my mind and my behavior has fundamentally improved. People have seen my improvement since I began cultivation. Along the way I earned promotions. I know that Master arranges a practitioner's path. Once a customer shook hands with me and said, "If you were not practicing Falun Gong today, you wouldn't be able to handle this managerial position. Many people did that job for a couple of years and were all transferred. Could you give me a copy of Zhuan Falun to read? Prior to your practicing, we respected you because you had 'power.' After you began practicing Falun Gong, you took care of us selflessly. We admire you!"

My job position change brought me more opportunities for clarifying the facts. It enlarged the numbers of people I could reach. Not only had my office become a good place for face-to-face discussions about Falun Gong, every business trip became a good opportunity, as well. The people that I talked with directly also had friends and family that they talked to. Some people got on the cultivation path this way. Some quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Others helped high-level officials know the facts. Every time I would tell people, "You must tell your family and friends about these facts! If they are working at the police department, it is particularly important to let them know and tell them not to persecute Falun Gong practitioners."

The annual job review report is also a good opportunity for me to let people know how I have benefited from practicing Falun Gong. The first wish I had was to validate Dafa by means of the review report, and Master gave me the wisdom to do so. A typical report of this nature was often written following the wicked Party's culture, full of political jargon, senseless words and lies. But as a Fa-rectification period Dafa practitioner I must write a report according to the principle of the righteous Fa. I was going to deliver the report to over 200 company staff members, so I was excited about this opportunity to validate Dafa to such a big audience.

In my review report, I described how Dafa's righteous principles applied to our work. For instance, when I described how I handled several billion yuan and was never tempted to touch a penny of it, I talked about how Dafa's principles restrained my behavior. It is those principles that can accomplish for society what money cannot. I didn't boast of my achievement, but instead I wrote about my appreciation of support from the employees. I explained that tolerance is the foundation of joy, and honesty is one's moral foundation.

The conference room filled by over 200 people was quiet during my speech. After I finished speaking, the applause was loud and genuine. In preparing for the speech, I wanted to let each word transmit the underlying message of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance". The speech was well-received by the staff, as well as my superiors.

This year I was selected as an outstanding manager and got a good raise. I knew all these were the benefits from practicing Dafa, and this was also to completely negate the old forces' persecution from a financial perspective. I wanted to validate the Fa whenever and wherever possible rather than to prove myself. I treated everyone with sincerity. When they asked me, "Why do you treat us so kindly? We are neither relatives nor friends, and you do not accept our gifts." I told them with sincerity that I am a Falun Gong practitioner. I would then clarify the facts to them, with mostly good results.

This also made me realize, "Compassion can harmonize Heaven and Earth, ushering in spring." ("The Fa Rectifies the Cosmos" in Hong Yin Vol. II) If we present facts with a righteous mindset and righteous actions, other people will easily accept them and choose a good future for themselves.
