(Clearwisdom.net) Around 10 o'clock on the evening of April 6, 2007 in
Weifang City, Shandong Province, Dafa practitioner Li Xinjian went to the Party
Committee of Ze'erzhuang Village of Quiwen District, Weifang City to ask them to
release his wife who had been illegally detained by the Committee. However, Li
Xinjian was also arrested by the State Security Group of Quiwen Police Station
of Weifang City, policemen from Beiyuan Police Station, and the security staff
from the Ze'er Village. The next morning, policeman Gu Zhiyong and four others
robbed the house key from Li Xinjian and went to his home to search it. In the
absence of any family members, they took away his personal belongings. Wang
Honggang, the director of the Residence Committee of Beigongqiao Neighborhood,
was the one who showed the way to Li Xinjian's home. After that, Li Xinjian was
sent to the infamous Weifang Brainwashing Center (formerly the brainwashing
center at the School of Industrial Cadres). He has been detained there for over
two months. Dafa practitioner Li Xinjian, 50, lives in the Beigongqiao Neighborhood of
Beiyuan Street, Quiwen District. He was the senior chef and the manager of a
hotel restaurant belonging to the Labor Bureau of Weifang City. He was known as
a respectable and kind person. On October 6, 2000, Li Xinjian went to Beijing to appeal in Tiananmen Square.
However, he was brutally beaten by policemen, and a policeman even stepped on
his head. His mouth was bleeding, and his face had a large bruise. Later, he was
dragged to the office that Weifang City maintained in Beijing. A policeman
handcuffed both of his hands behind his back and stomped on his foot. He also
pressed down on his head and face with his foot. Li Xinjian then was sent back
to Weifang City and illegally detained at the Quiwen Detention Center. Li
Xinjian went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. A police officer at
the Quiwen Police Station force-fed Li Xinjian by sticking a tube into his nose,
and he pulled it out 11 times. The tube was covered with blood when it was
pulled out. A month later, Li Xinjian was illegally sent to the Changle Forced
Labor Camp of Weifang City, and he stayed there for three years. At the Changle Forced Labor Camp, Xu Lihua, the director of the Camp, Zou
Jingtian, the vice director, and Ding Guihua and Zhu Weile, the directors of
Group 2, instructed inmates to "transform" Li Xinjian by force. They
forced him to swear at Dafa and the Teacher, and beat him with belts, bed legs,
or table legs if he refused to do so. Li Xinjian rolled on the floor in pain
while trying to avoid another blow. One of his ears was beaten until it swollen
so badly that his hearing was blocked. On the cold winter days, the wardens
stripped him many times and tortured him. After having been detained at the Changle Forced Labor Camp for almost a
month, Li Xinjian was sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp of Shandong
Province. Li Xinjian continued his hunger strike to protest, so that the wardens
force-fed him by sticking the food tube through his nose and into his stomach
for more than 40 days. He and other steadfast Dafa practitioners were forced to
sit on small low stools in such a way that they had to put their legs at a 90
degree angle with their hands on their laps. They had to sit like this for six
hours in a row until the skin of their buttocks started to bleed. They were
beaten if they tried to move even a little bit. Wardens sometimes handcuffed Li Xinjian onto a bunk bed, or hung him by his
handcuffed hands from the upper level of the bunk bed, leaving the tip of the
toes touching the floor while one foot was tied to the lower level. He was also
tortured by one hand being handcuffed to the upper level and another to the
lower level of a bunk bed, which prevented him from either standing up or
sitting down, but caused him to have to bend with one hand up and another low.
Wardens would torture Li Xinjian with these methods from six o'clock in the
morning until ten o'clock in the evening, and again from ten o'clock in the
evening until six o'clock in the morning. (Please refer to Illustration 1) Illustration 1 The wardens instructed inmates to handcuff Li Xinjian's hands to both ends of
a shoulder pole and to deprive him of sleep. The inmates divided into two groups
and took turns watching him. He would get hit on the chin or the forehead once
he blinked his eyes. (Please refer to Illustration 2) This torture lasted for
more than 20 days. In the end, Li Xinjian's feet were swollen, both wrists bled,
and both hands were severely swollen and it look as if he were wearing boxing
gloves. As if these tortures were not enough, the Camp authorities recruited
some policemen with martial arts training to assist in torturing Dafa
practitioners. They took off Li Xinjian's clothes and shocked him with over a
dozen electronic batons for two and a half days. (Please refer to Illustration
3) Once, at the end of 2000, Li Xinjian was tortured with the Hanging on the
Bed, or Half-Flying Method from six o'clock in the morning until
ten o'clock in the evening for 27 days in a row; moreover, he was deprived of
sleep by being handcuffed to a shoulder pole from ten o'clock in the evening
until six o'clock in the morning. Illustration 3 Two years after he was released from the forced labor camp, on April 8, 2006,
a plainclothes policeman abducted him again when he was clarifying the
truth to people in a bus in Fangzi District, and they sent him to the
Weifang Detention Center. On the very same day, the policemen from Quiwen
District Police Station, led by Wang Honggang, the director of the neighborhood
committee, broke into Li Xinjian's home and searched it. Li Xinjian was not
released until several months later. On April 6, 2007, when he went to the village committee to ask them to
release his wife who had been illegally detained (she was abducted and taken to
the village committee when she was clarifying the truth to people), Li Xinjian
was arrested and detained again, and his home was searched. We call on the following authorities in Weifang City to release Li Xinjian
