Two Practitioners from Dingxing County, Hebei Province, Tortured

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners Qu Fengju and Lu Yuhui from Dingxing County, Hebei Province were arrested for "clarifying the facts" about Falun Gong. They were severely beaten.

Four days after the 2005 Lunar New Year's Day, Qu Fengju and Lu Yuhui went to Longhua Village, Dingxing County, to clarify the facts. On their way, they were reported by Zhang Shumei.

When the Longhua Village Party Secretary Zhang Heli got the report, he immediately gathered his henchman Zhang Wei and Security head Tian Shuhuai and Wang Hui. They took the two practitioners to the Village Administration Committee and put them in a room. Then they used a thick, wide stick to viciously beat them. They found another stick when the first one broke during the cruel beating. They turned the light off. Qu Fengju's head was bleeding and she could not move her legs after the beating. Her left shoulder was also hurt. Lu Huiyu is in her 50s. She was injured all over and not able to talk. Later, the two practitioners were taken in a police car by Jia Qingchuan from county National Security Team. In the office, the two practitioners were tortured in an attempt to extorted a confession from them. Wang Shuqing, Liu Hemin, and Jia Qingchuan searched the practitioners' houses. The questioning went on after the officials drank wine in the night. Then the practitioners were sent to a detention center, but no one took care of their wounds and they were forced to do hard labor. The police did not allow their families to visit them. Without notifying her family, Qu Fengju was sentenced to three years of forced labor. After suffering tremendously in the detention center, Lu Yuhui was released after her family paid four thousand yuan in extortion money. Qu Fengju left behind her parents, father-in-law over 80 years old, and her son who was only seven years old at the time. Her family had an extremely hard time when she was sent to a labor camp. Qu Fengju has been released, but due to the fierce beatings she suffered, her left arm is now immobile, her legs are disabled, and mentally she is in a trance.
