Dafa Purified Me

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa allowed me to understand the true meaning of life and initiated my journey to return to my original self. I feel that I am so blessed to have obtained Falun Dafa.

Reflecting on my path of cultivation, I am embarrassed to say that I have been a disciple that was not very diligent, and often let Teacher worry. I now know clearly that the opportunity to practice cultivation is extremely precious, and I constantly remind myself to study the Fa a lot, do what Teacher asks us to do, and have righteous thoughts. I realize that to save sentient beings, I have to cultivate myself well first.

I have benefited a great deal from Dafa. I am nearly fifty years old, but I am like a youngster, full of vitality. Even after over ten hours of hard work every day, I still feel energetic. I am in better shape than a typical thirty-year-old. In the past, I had hypertension, an infection of the mammary gland, stomachaches and a stiff neck. These illnesses all went away after I began my cultivation. I no longer needed to see a doctor or take any medication, and seldom felt tired or weary. I often tell people, "If I did not cultivate in Dafa, I would have all sorts of illnesses now. Cultivation has improved my health remarkably." My younger brother often says, "My sister is in terrific shape. Indeed it shows the wonder of Dafa."

More importantly, Dafa has purified my mind and elevated my state of mind. It is my understanding that Teacher has told us that to cultivate is to improve one's heart. I remember this well.

At home, I no longer fight with my husband even though he has been without a job or income for many years. I do all that I can to truly understand him, think about him and care about him. Thus, he honestly supports my practicing Falun Gong, and allows me to have a good cultivation environment at home.

Since I am the sole wage earner and my child started college in September 2005, we invited my seventy-three-year-old mother-in-law to live with us. Previously, this would have been absolutely impossible. After staying at our home for a while, she said that I was totally different from how I had been in the past. She told her younger son-in-law, "Your sister-in-law is a very reasonable and nice person. She let go of the past unhappiness and has treated me well."

All of our neighbors were surprised about my inviting my mother-in-law to live with us. Relatives and friends were all impressed too. I told them, "This is all because I am cultivating in Dafa. I am following the principle of Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance."

I follow Teacher's Fa to treat people nicely and use my benevolence to deal with everyone. My mother-in-law says that I have treated her better than her own son did and every day she looks forward to my coming home. She said that she feels happy talking with me. I know that it is all from the power of Dafa. Seeing the change in me, she also felt the wonder of Dafa and gladly accepted it and began to cultivate. Though she was almost illiterate, she tried to read Zhuan Falun a little bit at a time. At first, it went very slowly, but now she can read it more fluently. She studies Dafa every day when she is home alone. Because of the decaying of her hip bones many years ago, her legs cannot be stretched straight. When she first came to our house, she almost always needed someone to carry her going upstairs and needed to use a crutch to walk in the house. Now she can go up or down the stairs by herself, and without the crutch going down. One day, she carried the crutch on her back and went downstairs to stroll leisurely along the street on her own. We had agreed that I would go downstairs to meet her when she came back, but she soon climbed up the stairs to the sixth floor all by herself and her legs were fine. This would not have been possible in the past and is entirely the result of Teacher's benevolence and the wonder of Dafa. My mother-in-law said, "I came to your house solely for Dafa."

I am no longer so tense on my job, attempting to show off and win all the time. Rather, I follow the requirements of Dafa and do my job well. I seldom get upset and I can treat everyone with an open mind. I have tried my best to tell them the truth about Falun Gong. My performance has improved a great deal and this is all brought about by Dafa.

I have also tried to save sentient beings by telling them the facts about Falun Gong. My family members, relatives and friends all know the facts now. In the beginning, they were afraid and did not understand. But now they have all accepted Dafa, and most have quit the Communist Party and its associated organizations.

Teacher told us that saving sentient beings is our historical mission. I am working hard to eliminate my attachments and save those people who have a karmic relationship to be saved. My whole mind is on saving people. I truly feel that I need to finish my great mission and that I have not done enough. I need to study the Fa more and be more diligent, so that I can save more people, complete my historic vows and not let Teacher worry for me.
