Ms. Li Yunxia from Yi County, Hebei Province Is Extremely Weak from Nearly Three Years of Torture at Baoding Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Li Yunxia from Yi County of Hebei Province has been detained and tortured in the Baoding Forced Labor Camp for nearly 3 years. Recently the camp authorities launched a "conquer-the-toughest" campaign and carried out inhuman torture on the steadfast practitioners, among whom Li Yunxia was one of the most severely tortured.

Around 10 o'clock on the morning of October 26, 2004, four officers from the Airport Police Station of the Xishan North Village, Yi County, broke into practitioner Li Yunxia's home and arrested her and charged her with distributing Falun Gong materials at the Yi County temple fair. The police searched her home and confiscated all of her Falun Gong books and took her to the police station. Around 8 o'clock in the evening, the police transferred her to the Yi County Detention Center.

Li Yunxia resisted the persecution in the detention center and did not cooperate with the police. She was beaten by the police from the national security team. Her face and body were covered with black and purple bruises. After 15 days, the Yi County police transferred her to the Baoding Forced Labor Camp in Balizhuang Town for a 3-year term.

She steadily refused to be "transformed" and give up her practice of Falun Gong. She suffered all kinds of inhuman torture imposed by the labor camp guards. To protest the torture and persecution, she went on hunger strikes several times. When the camp guards force-fed her, they stretched her arms and cuffed her hands upwards on both sides of the bed frame. One time she asked to use the toilet, and the guards refused to remove the hand cuffs and shocked her with an electric baton instead.

Due to the long-term detention and torture, Li Yunxia has become very weak, and throws up anything she eats. Yet the camp guards still force her to do slave labor and threatened her, saying, "We will prolong your term if you don't finish your production quota."

When her family visited her in the labor camp, they noticed she was emaciated and hardly able to walk by herself. Her family also heard the guard monitoring the family visit saying that Li Yunxia could withstand all kinds of beatings. From this her family could imagine that the camp authorities had tried many torture methods in an attempt to "transform" her.

The camp guards who participated in torturing Li Yunxia include: Liu Ziwei, Zhang Guohong, Li Xiuqin (retired), Wu Wenshuang, Liu Shanshan, Yan Qingwen.
