Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zhang Shuzhen Paralyzed Due to Torture by the Zhuolu County "610 Office"

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Shuzhen's home in Yuanzhuang Village was raided on the morning of March 13, 2007. Those who participated include Dong Fei, Guo Xingjun, Ma Jianjun, and Liu Meicheng from the Political Security Division of the Zhoulu County Police Department in Hebei Province, Zhao Xuan and Li Zhiming from the Zhoulu County 610 Office, and Zhao Lailiang and Wu Xiangdong from Zhuolu Town. They confiscated Dafa informational materials, a computer, printer and other personal property from Zhang's home. These items were worth over 30,000 yuan.

When this happened, a technician named Liu was at Ms. Zhang's home to repair some of her home appliances. He was robbed as well. His cell phone, over 10,000 yuan in cash, and a van with many items inside were confiscated.

Zhang Shuzhen and the technician Liu were both arrested.

Police officer Dong Fei from the Political Security Division of Zhuolu County colluded with the police in the Political Security Division of Wei County. That night, they searched technician Liu's home and his repair shop and confiscated personal property. They also arrested his wife and teenage son. His son was released later. Mr. Liu was detained in the Zhuolu County Detention Center for 14 days and then released after they extorted 30,000 yuan from him. They only returned his van, but not the other property they confiscated. This incident cost Mr. Liu's family over 100,000 yuan. Police officers took about 12,000 yuan in cash out of Mr. Liu's pocket, extorted 35,000 yuan from him, and confiscated other items including computers, copy machines, an MP3 player and other items worth over 15,000 yuan. They also closed his bank account that had 39,000 yuan in it. There were also other monetary losses involved due to the shop being shut down and unable to operate for a long period of time. Mr. Liu's wife Li Mingju was arrested also, and she is currently being detained somewhere in the city.

That day, Zhang Shuzhen was taken to the county police department and tortured brutally until she lost consciousness. Police officer Dong Fei had someone inject her with an unknown drug, causing her to be completely paralyzed. That night, Li Zhiming from the county 610 Office and others took Zhang Shuzhen to the Zhuolu County Detention Center. In the beginning, the detention center refused to accept Zhang Shuzhen because she was unconscious, but they were forced to accept her for one night under pressure from the county 610 Office.

The next day, the police took Ms. Zhang to a mental hospital located at Donghuan Road, east of the county. She was once again injected with unknown drugs. On March 15, she was sent to the county hospital, and hospital personnel gave her a shot and refused to provide any further treatment. The police informed village officials to take her back. They saw Ms. Zhang's miserable condition and refused to take responsibility for her.

At noon on March 16, police officer Li Zhiming from the county 610 Office and Liu Xiangdong from Zhuolu Town drove Zhang Shuzhen home. She was laying on the stretcher and on the brink of death. She only wore a pair of thin pants. Police officer Dong Fei and Li Zhiming roughly took Zhang Shuzhen out of the car and threw her onto the bed, injuring her back. She was paralyzed, yet the police officers mocked her for faking an injury.

Currently, Zhang Shuzhen is paralyzed at home and is incontinent. She fades in and out of consciousness. Even so, her home is still under surveillance by the local authorities.
