Persecution by Brainwashing Is on the Rise in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Changzhou is one of the worst places in Jiangsu Province in terms of its persecution of Dafa practitioners. During the past few years, Changzhou City has set up a complete system for persecuting Dafa practitioners, and the brainwashing center is infamous.

Shao Zhimin, head of the 610 Office, is one of the six main persons under the direct command of Lou Gan. He is the one in charge of all areas of Jiangsu City for enforcing the persecution of Dafa practitioners. He is either directly involved in the brainwashing of practitioners or indirectly controls the brainwashing sessions behind the scenes. He sometimes puts on a facade of kindness, and other times shows his viciousness. Shao went many times to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp to "learn" the process of persecution and to record a DVD that slanders Dafa. He has also traveled to other places to introduce the brainwashing "transformation" method. He is also the generally acknowledged "expert of transformation" by the 610 Office in Zhangzhou City. He is still persecuting Dafa practitioners.

In Changzhou City, brainwashing sessions are one of the elements of the persecution system. Brainwashing sessions can be held anytime and anywhere. In order to achieve the purpose of "transformation," the heads of the 610 Office in charge of all local cities and regions and all street security and neighborhood committees send people to participate. These professionally-trained people, upon their release from the forced labor camp, are responsible for "transforming" practitioners. All these people work together to form a persecution group. No money is spared, and a large number of people are employed to provide food and accommodations so they can besiege Dafa practitioners around the clock.

Salaries are paid to these people from the persecution expense funds. Due to their changed mentalities from the training, they impose cruel torture on the steadfast Dafa practitioners in the same ways that they had themselves suffered in forced labor camps. For instance, they punish practitioners by having them stand for long periods of time or squat on their heels, or by depriving them of sleep for long periods. Some practitioners could not stand this treatment and were forced to sign the "five statements" or a "transformation document." The released practitioners still have to regularly go to another persecution institution, which is the so-called "consolidated transformation results workshop," or "sunshine workshop," to report their state of thinking until they attain complete obedience. Some practitioners came from forced labor camps but did not "transform." After they went home, they were forced into brainwashing sessions again.

Due to this kind of persecution, local Falun Gong practitioners dare not to communicate with each other. They secretly cultivate individually, and therefore the whole group is unable to cooperate as one body. They cannot clarify the truth to people in a good way, and that is very distressing. At the present time, this type of persecution is intensifying. According to one report, brainwashing centers are widespread, including at the Linjichang Hotel, Tianning Area Triangle Square, Wujin Area Henrui Hotel, and Xinhai Area Hehei Hotel.

There are two "sunshine workshops" in this area, which are part of the persecution system. One, established in July 2004, is in the Zhonglou area. Another, established in February 2005, is in the Tianning area. In these places, the professionally-trained people in charge and those who had been completely "transformed" come together to persecute Dafa practitioners. Some retired members of the Chinese Communist Party are also involved. They tightly control practitioners who have been through the brainwashing sessions. Those practitioners have to regularly participate in the forum, and they are closely scrutinized. This persecution system has caught the attention of the Chinese Communist Party's higher levels. They have sent people many times to examine this system and to learn it, and they are promoting the system all over China. The surrounding areas have already begun to use it.

On June 17, 2007, Ms. He Jing, 52, the head doctor in the hospital for gynecology and obstetrics in Changzhou City, was arrested in Changzhou Train Station because she persisted in cultivating Dafa. Then after her house was confiscated, she was sent to the Zhonglou Brainwashing Center to be persecuted.

Ms. He Jing is the main doctor of gynecology and obstetrics in Changzhou Hospital. She is well known for her excellent performance in the medical sciences and is a very good doctor in her professional area of practice. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, she appealed the unjust treatment of Dafa, and she was twice sent to brainwashing sessions. In 2004, she was detained for one-hundred days. Ms. He's husband died from illness. She has a child in college. This child is living in a very difficult situation and is suffering all kinds of pressure. Now he has to face the situation of his mother being in a detention center.
