My Mother Was Illegally Arrested in Laizhou City, Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) My mother, Liu Hongyuing, was illegally arrested by Liu Jinbing of the Laizhou City County Security Division in September 2006 while I was attending school in another city. When she was arrested, my father did all that he could to protect her, but five police officers knocked him to the ground. The officers illegally searched our house and took my mom's laptop, all of our Falun Dafa books, and a photo of Master Li. They also vandalized the entire house and damaged the bed and sofa.

After my mother was arrested, my seriously ill grandmother cried every day, and eventually just lay on the bed, unable to walk. My grandfather was so sad that he could not eat anything. Because my mother respects her mother-in-law and father-in-law so much, they have always treated her like their own daughter.

Two days after my mother's arrest, my father sent her some clothes. That was the last time he had an opportunity to see her. My father said, "When your mom was arrested, spies set up monitors in Longxing Restaurant, which is located in front of our house." (That restaurant is on the verge of going out of business now, and their sign on the front door has been blown away by wind and rain several times.)

I know an elderly lady whose son was also illegally arrested. After I went home, I went with her to see Liu Jingbing in the County Security Division to ask him to release my mother. The elderly lady tried to clarify the truth to the officers several times, but they did not listen and pushed her away. She was over 70 years old and she had walked so far to get there, but they pushed her out many times. Every time, we stood outside for about seven hours, and we were still refused entry. Each time we saw the detention center transfer practitioners, they always put black covers over their heads so that their families and other people would not be able to see them.

The police posted a notice that they would have a public court session to sentence my mother. That day it was snowing, and we were all waiting in the courthouse. There were adults, children, and elderly people all waiting there, but we did not see anyone the whole morning. Later we learned that they had lied to us about meeting in the courtroom and that they had secretly sentenced my mother in a hidden room. I heard that the small room was very dark and could only seat five people. Because my mother would not cooperate with the unreasonable demands, the officers kicked her while she was on the ground.

The elderly lady and I went to the police station to ask why they did not open the session to the public but they refused to answer us. They continued to hold private court sessions and by that time my mother had been on a hunger strike for more than 40 days. She never stopped saying, "Falun Dafa is good!" Later, my mother was "illegally sentenced" to serve a term at Jinan Women's Prison. I did not see her until May 3, 2007. She was very skinny, looked much older than before, and was very weak.

My mother practices Falun Dafa and is not guilty of any crime. She should not be detained in prison.
