Ms. Yang Yanchun of Heilongjiang Province Illegally Sentenced to Seven Years of Imprisonment

(Clearwisdom.net) Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the Minghui.org website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net).

On May 10, 2007, the lower court of Dongfanghong Forestry Bureau illegally sentenced practitioner Ms. Yang Yanhong¯on the pretense of a groundless, fabricated crime¯to a prison term of seven years. At present, she is being held in the Dongfanghong Forestry Bureau's detention center.

Before being persecuted, Ms. Yang was employed at the Huasen Chopsticks Factory. On the morning of December 7, 2006, six to seven people headed by Du Hai from the Political Protection Section raided Yang Yanchun's residence and ransacked it. They also arrested her, held her at the Public Security Bureau, and had her interrogated by six people in turn.

On December 8, 2006, at about 8:00 p.m., Huang Jianming of the Judiciary Section and Yu Jian of the Political Protection Section arrived to interrogate Ms. Yang. First, Huang Jianming handcuffed her to the metal bars on the window of a door. Later they took her to the office upstairs, where Tang Gang of the Political Protection Section handcuffed her behind her back. Then Yan Xiangbao and Chu Bo stood on each side of her and lifted her up by holding the cuffs. The cuffs cut into Ms. Yang's flesh and caused enormous pain. She struggled and screamed from the unbearable pain. Under this kind of unbearable torture, she was forced to admit to their false charges.

On May 10, 2007, the lower court of the Dongfanghong Forestry Bureau secretly sentenced the innocent Yang Yanchun to a jail term of seven years. The appeal for the case was originally scheduled to be heard within ten days of the sentencing date. Yang Yanchun's father and her lawyer came on the seventh day, but the court refused to have a second trial, leaving the original sentence unchanged.
