By a practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) I have wanted to share my views about this issue for a long time, but I procrastinated time and again. After reading "Some Understandings on Elder Fellow Practitioners' Lives Taken by Sickness Karma" written by a fellow practitioner, I was very much affected. On the surface it appeared as if the sickness karma took the life, in reality, however, the starting point was incorrect, which was then taken advantage of by the evil.

The practitioner who wrote the article said: "As a Dafa disciple, because you embark on the path of cultivation practice, only then does Master purify your body. However, it is not for you to live like an ordinary people when you have a healthy body. As a Dafa disciple, your every thought must be on the Fa and be strict with yourself. Once you deviated from a cultivator's standards, you would go on the path the old forces arranged."

I see that some of the practitioners are very busy with work on the farm or making a living. After starting cultivation, they become healthy. But now all their energies are consumed in living a normal life, and it does not cross their minds how, as cultivators, to save more people at this critical moment.

My mother and my elder sister are both practitioners. In the past, because they were busy on the farm, they often were diligent for a while and then slacked off in doing the three things.

When I saw that they had slacked off because of farm work, I had a few discussions with them. I wanted them to understand and be clear in their minds as to which is fundamentally more important, and to balance well the relationship between farm work and cultivation practice so as not go to extremes. If we only cared about the farm work and often slacked off in cultivation, even in Fa study, we would cease to be cultivators. If all we did were to study the Fa, do the exercises, clarify the truth, and give up ordinary people's work, that would not be the conduct of a practitioner either. I told them, "You are all busy from dawn to dusk. Today you hoe this, and tomorrow you shovel that, but the weeds grow constantly and grow better than the crops. You worry about not having a good harvest. This attachment preoccupies you. You clear away the weeds over and over, but you cannot stop them. The mutual-generation and mutual-inhibition principle of the old universe manifests in everything. The crops and the weeds oppose each other. You do not use righteous thoughts to stop the rampant spread of the negative things and let the crops' growth check the weeds' overrun. But the premise is not just to have a good harvest, or to live well, but to have more time to do the three things. On the surface, what you do conforms to farm life to the greatest extent possible. But in your mind you always remember that saving people is the foremost, and act accordingly. You'll see the difference. What a person's annual income is is already fated. Some people are so busy all the time, but end up in ruins with one gusty wind or a rainstorm. On the other hand, some people's land may be hit by disasters, but their crops still turn out well." Later on I jokingly said, "When gods see that you cannot take care of your farm because you are out saving people, they may just give you a helping hand and save you a lot of trouble." My mother had serious illnesses before starting cultivation practice. Her health is excellent now and she does all the housework, a busy bee in and around the house. I said to her, "Master gives you a healthy body for you to save people, not to be busy with ordinary living."

After they corrected their mindsets, they rearranged their schedules and put the three things foremost. Now their crops grow better and taller than others. Everyone has commented that their lives have turned so much better. They indeed are not so busy as in the past. In order to distribute a flier or a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, my mother still goes to the market on market days to save people regardless of how much she has to do at the farm. She marvels at the fact that even the trees they planted grow better than others.

My elder sister likes to distribute fliers and clarify the truth face to face. On July 1st of last year, the anniversary of the evil CCP, after she distributed the fliers and started to return home, the road home was flooded. The water was waist deep, and vehicles were set afloat. She had no fear at all, and only had saving people in her mind. She knew that with Master looking after her, she would not be in any danger, and, sure enough, nothing untoward happened. I feel that as long as we position ourselves correctly, we would not have any loss just because we do the three things. If we are attached to worldly gains and losses, this itself indicates that our basic premise as cultivators is flawed. As a Dafa practitioner, we should require more of ourselves and not worry about gains and losses.

Likewise, practitioners in the city are also immersed in business and work. Besieged by their workloads, they slack off in doing the three things. I was persecuted by the CCP. After being dismissed from public service, I abandoned the arts and pursued science. From an ordinary person's viewpoint, it could not be done. However, I was able to do it all by myself and with flying colors. In two short years, I have made an impact in the area I am involved in. I am also very busy and feel that time is too short. I spend much time on the three things. I persist in memorizing the Fa. I study Zhuan Falun by reciting it and I never stop copying the Fa. I have copied all of Master's lectures given before July 20, 1999, once. Now I have already written the first three lectures in Zhuan Falun from memory. Even when I was in detention, I did not stop copying the Fa or writing it out from memory. I have been able to get this far because I follow what Master has said. Whatever Master has said to do, I just do it. Regardless of what things I do, my first thought is how to approach people to clarify the truth, ask them to quit the CCP, and to seize the opportunity to print and distribute fliers. Whatever I come across, be it good or bad, I view it as an opportunity to save people. Everything becomes very natural, almost automatic. I am still far short of Master's requirements, but I truly think about how to save more people all the time and I try to save people in everything I do. And none of this affects my work or health. Everyone says that I am very young. Miracles continue to appear in my work. I am able to quickly come up with answers for the very difficult mathematical problems in the Olympic class. Sometimes when I encounter difficult problems, I quietly ask Master to strengthen me, and in an instant my mind is clear. It has been always twice the result with half the effort in my work.

Fellow practitioners, we are Dafa disciples after all. We've been through eons just for this moment. The Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples' responsibility is considerable. When you truly see that these people should have been saved, but because you are busy with your daily life and the ordinary gains and losses, they are not saved and this predestined opportunity of ages is lost forever, can you turn the clock back? Can you retrieve the loss? Let's take all secular things lightly, save the sentient beings, consummate, and return with Master, which will be the only thing that is real.
