1. Paralyzed due to severe femur head necrosis; recovered within five days
Ma Zhongbo lives in Minhe Village, Ashihe Township, Heilongjiang Province. In
1998, at the age of 27, she experienced leg pain. Consultations with specialists
from the Heilongjiang Province Hospital, Harbin Medical University and the
Harbin North Femur Head Necrosis Research Institute revealed severe necrosis of
both femur heads. She went to several hospitals for treatment, but in vain.
Moreover, she spent thousands of yuan for medicine. Toward the end
of 1998, her legs were in extreme pain and paralyzed. Due to severe pain she
could only crawl around and could not take care of her daily life. At that time
the family was poverty-stricken. She sold her house and took her young daughter
to her parents' home.
Facing the broken family and incurable illness, she was profoundly depressed.
She intended to meet her family members and relatives for the last time during
the Lunar New Year of 1999 and then commit suicide so that she could escape the
torment of her illness. Her relatives wanted to try to help her. They gave her a
copy of Zhuan Falun and told her to read it carefully, and
said that Falun Gong is miraculous for healing illness and keeping people fit.
She finished reading Zhuan Falun in two-and-a-half days in January
1999. She excitedly said that it was a precious book, and she was deeply moved
by what was written in the book. She understood the reason why she had developed
this incurable disease although she was so young. Furthermore, she understood a
lot she had never known before. The third day after reading the book she went to
the Falun Gong practice site. During the first three days she felt physical and
mental changes. The morning of the fifth day she felt completely healthy. She
asked someone to bring her shoes. She put them on and left the sickbed. She
exclaimed loudly, "I have gotten well! My legs don't hurt anymore! I can
walk now!"" People around her were astonished. Her sister commented on
the terror of her illness, but she had recovered so quickly. Seeing her
tremendous changes, many of her relatives entered through the door of
cultivation.
When her husband found she had really recovered and regained the courage to
live, he took her back home. She studied the Fa and did the
exercises as well. At the same time, she complied with Master's requirement to
be a good person according to the principles of
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." In addition, she was strict
with herself, forgave her husband, changed her attitude toward older people and
got rid of the vice of playing Mah-Jong and gambling. Her entire family was very
happy.
2. A doctor encouraged her to speak up for Falun Gong
But the good times did not last long. On July 20, 1999, Jiang's regime and
the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong.
Although she practiced Falun Gong for a short time, she knew that the TV
broadcasts were false. Rational thinking made her conclude that all the TV
propaganda were lies, deception and framing.
In April 2000 she went to the Harbin North Femur Head Necrosis Research
Institute to pick up her CT-scan results. When the doctor familiar with her
illness noticed her walking around he was quite astonished. Based on many years'
clinical experience he said, "You were not cured by drugs. Tell me, which
folk prescription has cured your illness?" Ma Zhongbo replied, "I did
not use any folk prescriptions. I was cured by practicing Falun Gong!"
Knowing her complete medical history and the excruciating pain she had endured,
and now seeing her healthy, surprised him. He said, "Since it's such a
miracle, why don't you speak up for Falun Gong since the TV programs are saying
that Falun Gong is lying and can't cure illnesses?" After hearing that she
felt ashamed of herself for not speaking up for Falun Gong early.
3. Her conscience tells her she should speak up for Falun Gong
On the way back from Harbin, Ma Zhongbo thought it over and then knew she
must speak up for Falun Gong and her Master.
She took her CT-scan result and diagnosis and went to the local Appeals
Office. She explained the facts that Falun Gong had saved her life and her
family interactions. But the local Appeals Office officials took her to
610 Office. After officials there heard her story, they took her to
the police department. The police could not justify the slanderous propaganda,
but took her to her home and warned her not to appeal for Falun Gong.
She decided to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Learning of her
decision her father said, "You have to go, if no one else does. Dafa
saved your life and your family."
In June 2000 she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was arrested
and taken back to the No. 2 Detention Center in Acheng City where she was
illegally detained for two months. She held a protest hunger strike during
detention and demanded her unconditional release. In nine days of hunger strike,
she was savagely force-fed. Once the guard inserted a tube into her nostrils
seven times. Because the torture caused stomach bleeding, the police released
her after extorting 500 yuan from her family.
In October 2000, she went to Beijing again to appeal for Falun Gong. Police
officers at the Zhongnanhai (Communist regime compound) Security Bureau shocked
her with electric batons, but she defied their demands to renounce Falun Gong.
In addition she shouted, "Falun Gong is good!" She was again taken
back to Acheng City and was then sentenced to one year of forced labor.
4. Tortured nearly to death in the notorious Wanjia Forced Labor Camp
The guards at the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp tried to force her to slander Dafa
and Master. In order to "reform" her they sent her to the male
division several times. The guards and inmates cruelly tortured her mentally and
physically. They forced her to sit on a metal chair for three days and deprived
her of sleep for several days. Four male guards and one female guard dragged her
across the floor while hitting and kicking her. Her back and feet bled.
She was held at the male division for nine days. During that period, they
handcuffed her wrists to an upper bunk bed. They put her down after she lost
consciousness. When she came to, they continued to torture her. In addition, she
was made to squat for two nights and one day. They also made her sit on a hard
stool for days at a time. The flesh on her buttocks festered and seeped pus and
blood. Her right foot began to fester and swelled so severely she could not put
her shoe on. She was unable to walk for more than 20 days and had a high fever.
Her breast reddened and swelled from torture. Her body was covered with
scabies. The severe pain prevented her from sleeping. Despite this the guards
forced her to do forced labor during the daytime. One day, a large amount of
blood and pus dripped from her left breast. She had virtually no breast tissue
left. The labor camp authorities realized the seriousness of her condition and
had to send her to a hospital in Harbin City, where she was diagnosed with
breast cancer. The Wanjia Forced Labor Camp did not want to take any
responsibility, so they informed her family to take her home.
5. Breast cancer disappeared after doing the exercises for several days; and
each person was touched by this miracle
At that time, she was emaciated and extremely weak. Her body was covered with
scabies and pus from her breast. All her relatives and fellow villagers who came
to see her predicted that she was not going to live. Her husband felt the same
way. He was indifferent and disliked her.
When Zhongbo thought of the tortures she had suffered and the situation she
had to face at home, she realized how difficult it is to be a good person.
Sometimes she wanted to commit suicide to escape the hardships. However, when
she heard sarcastic comments such as "a Falun Gong practitioner also
developed breast cancer; she was not going to live, and Falun Gong could not
cure her," and her neighbor even saying, "Didn't you say Falun Gong
cured your necrosis? If Falun Gong can cure your breast cancer, the whole
village will believe in Falun Gong," she decided to live, no matter how
hard it got; otherwise, people who did not understand the truth would believe
the evil lies even more, and the Chinese regime would use her case as an
incident to frame Falun Gong.
A fellow practitioner took her to her home for studying the Fa and doing the
exercises with her. She asked her if she wanted to do the exercises. Her body
was trembling and her swollen breast was still infected and running pus. She had
lumps under her armpits and on her arms. She thought, "I'm a Falun Gong
practitioner and Master is watching over me." She said, "Yes, let's
practice." After she went through four sets of exercises she felt relaxed
and energized, and the swelling on her breasts, arms and armpits disappeared!
The fellow practitioner's husband noticed the change. He gave the thumbs-up
sign and said, "If I had not seen this with my own eyes I wouldn't have
believed it, no matter who told me. I was actually afraid that you would die in
my home." She completely recovered after about 20 days of doing the
exercises and studying the Fa. Her left breast gradually developed new tissues.
Except for a large scar, the size and shape of her new left breast was the same
as the original.
She decided to go home the same day her father-in-law was celebrating his
66th birthday, and the house was filled with friends and relatives. They
wondered if she had died because no one had heard from her and they were
awestruck when they saw her, robust and beaming. Her father-in-law said,
"You recovered again! Falun Gong is so miraculous!" Her neighbor
added, "I really believe in Falun Gong. Falun Gong practice quickly cured
this incurable illness. Falun Gong is really good!" People who knew of her
miracle no longer believed the slanderous TV-broadcasts and even encouraged
other people to stop watching. They said the Communist regime was telling lies
and persecuting good people.
6. The previously cancerous breast nurses a baby
Ma Zhongbo became unexpectedly pregnant when she was 36 years old and gave
birth to a daughter in March 2007. The day after, the mother had sufficient
breast milk to feed the newborn, even in her previously cancerous left breast.
If Ma Zhongbo had not practiced Falun Gong, she could not have given birth and
breastfeed her daughter; it is most likely she would have died several years
earlier.
It is obvious that persecuting good people has led to countless disasters and
lowered social morality. It is inevitable that the heavens will eliminate the
CCP according to the principle, "Good will be rewarded and evil will be
punished."
