(Clearwisdom.net) Under the Chinese Communist Party's policy of bankrupting Falun Dafa practitioners financially, the police officers in China have turned arresting practitioners into a moneymaking operation. Not long ago, police officers in Shulan City, Liaoning Province arrested practitioner Mr. Zhang Xingju and his neighbor, an old lady who upholds justice, and fined them a total of 900 yuan after failing to extort 5,000 yuan from Mr. Zhang.

On the afternoon of June 14, 2007, officials from the Shulan City 610 Office in Liaoning Province, more than ten plain-clothes police officers from the National Security Team, and officers from the Chaoyang Town Police Station arrived in three police cars and broke into Mr. Zhang Xingju's home in the Henglin Residential Quarter of Chaoyang Town. They searched Mr. Zhang's home like gangsters and confiscated his paycheck, a DVD player, a camcorder, a CD recorder, a cell phone, an MP3 player, Dafa books and Dafa materials.

The police tried to fine Mr. Zhang 5,000 yuan, but his family members told the police that they didn't have any money. The police yelled and attempted to take away Mr. Zhang. An old lady who lived next door came over when she heard the yelling and said, "Be quiet. I have a heart problem." A short police officer who had a fat face yelled at her, "You deserve it if you are frightened to death. Nobody cares about you if you die."

Over ten police officers forcefully took Mr. Zhang to the police car. When Mr. Zhang's 16-year-old grandson and the old lady blocked them from taking him away, the short police officer pushed the old lady and knocked her down to the ground. Her arm started bleeding. The police slapped Mr. Zhang's grandson hard in the face, kicked him into the car and then pushed the old lady into the car.

The police took the three people to the Chaoyang Town Police Station and fined Mr. Zhang 500 yuan. They didn't release the old lady and the child until they fined them 200 yuan each on charges of interfering with official duty. Mr. Zhang's family members got back the paycheck that the police had taken earlier.

Prior to this event, the Shulan City 610 Office agents and other police officers had gone to Mr. Zhang Xingju's home many times to harass him and his family members, harming them physically and mentally.
