Canada: Truth Clarifying Lanterns Attract Thousands to View the Beauty and Righteousness of Dafa (Photos)

August 09, 2007 |

(Clearwisdom) The Public Dreams Illuminares Lantern Festival attracts 20,000 people each year to Trout Lake and John Hendry Parks in Vancouver, BC, Canada to take part in a festival of the night. This year was its first year to welcome Falun Dafa practitioners, as this is the first year that practitioners made truth-clarifying lanterns.

In fact, practitioners in Victoria were inspired by lanterns they saw on the Clearwisdom website, made in Taiwan, and they looked at the photos to make their own lanterns for a festival in Victoria. Just one week later, practitioners were able to bring Dafa's beauty to the people of Vancouver.

Thanks to Master's benevolent arrangement, Public Dreams Society expanded the festival, just to accommodate us! This is the first year they allowed the kind of installation display that we had already made. This was a very good form for our truth clarification.

We were allotted a nice space to set up the lanterns, and we arranged four "celestial maidens" to come and dance inside lotus flowers. The dancing, combined with the beautiful music produced by practitioners, and the purity and simplicity of the lanterns made people gasp in delight. People crowded around to witness the spectacular sight.

This practitioner says the energy is definitely stronger while sitting underneath the gong column. Little cherubs are depicted playing in the light.

This lantern honors Lunyu, the essence of Falun Dafa's main book, "Zhuan Falun." The entire text is lit up in both Chinese and English, with a multi-colored lotus flower to hold in a heavenly light.

Large crowds of people stopped to watch from 8:30 p.m. right up until the last minute at 11:30 p.m., when we took the lanterns apart.

Many Chinese people stopped by the display early in the evening to chat with us. One young man, who had just arrived from China, stood for 15 minutes while a practitioner clarified the facts to him. Others were appreciative of the positive display made by the practitioners. A number of westerners tried out sitting inside the lotus flower while the dancers were taking a break.

Next year, the practitioners will definitely be back with a bigger and even better display, as this was a really great way to show Dafa in a positive "light."
