Zhangjiakou City Intermediate Procuratorate and Court Involved in the Persecution of Seven Practitioners
(Clearwisdom.net) On April 24, 2007, Hebei Province Chicheng County
Police Department, the 610 Office, and the Politics and Law
Committee illegally arrested seven Falun Gong practitioners.
Practitioners Wang Yufeng, Wang Yuzhen, Wang Yuhai, Chen Haiyan, Zhao Bingheng,
Guo Xiulin, and Lin Cuilian were arrested and charged with "Subversion of
state power," and on June 3, the Chicheng Procuratorate issued
an arrest warrant. On August 3, family members of these practitioners went to the county
procuratorate to inquire about the case. They were told that the case had been
moved to the Zhangjiako City Procuratorate. They were also told, "This is a
big political case. The crime involves inciting the overthrow of the state
regime. We have no power to deal with it at the county level. You should go to
the city level." On August 8, several family members went to the city procuratorate. They were
told that the case had been transferred to the city intermediate procuratorate.
In the afternoon, the family members went to the city intermediate procuratorate
and were told that the case was being processed and that they would be notified
when the court hearing was scheduled. From the time these seven practitioners were arrested, only the Chicheng
County Detention Center allowed family visits. Neither the Zhangjiako City nor
the Huailai County Detention Center allowed visits, unless special permission
from the county National Security Team was given. Arrested practitioner Chen
Haiyan's 70 year-old mother, and Wang Yuhai's wife went to talk with the head of
the county National Security Team, Zhang Yongxin. But Zhang Yongxin outrageously
pushed them out the gate and rudely shouted at them, "I will not let you
visit them. If you want to see them, you will have to wait for the court
hearing." Three months have since passed and the situation of these seven practitioners
is unknown. In mid July, Guo Xiulin's husband heard that his wife was having difficulty
eating anything and couldn't even get out of bed. He took some medicine with him
and went to the detention center, which was a hundred miles away. When he
arrived, they refused to let him see his wife. He was worried about her and also
had to take care of a paralyzed parent and go to work. He was in great anguish. After three brothers and sisters, Wang Yuhai, Wang Yufeng and Wang Yuzhen,
were arrested, their 80-year-old parents cried day and night. They were looking
forward to seeing their children return home. Chen Haiyuan's father was shocked
by police officers who searched their house and confiscated their property.
Since that time, he has been sick and has to take injections. Chen Haiyan, one of the seven practitioners, developed blood cancer in 1999.
The hospital wanted a 100,000 yuan deposit for her treatment, but
she has no money at all. She was laid off and has a young child. At her wits'
end, Chen Haiyan's mother carried her to study Falun Gong. At that time, she was
not even able to walk properly. Surprisingly, within a month after starting
Falun Gong practice, her blood cancer disappeared. Now Chen Haiyan has been held
in jail for about three months because she wants to be a good person. Her
elderly parents worry about her day and night. The reason these seven practitioners were arrested is because the secretary
of Lou Gan, the national Political and Judicial head, went to a village in
Chicheng County and saw posters that said, "Falun Dafa is Good" and
"Heaven Will Exterminate the Chinese Communist Party." These
practitioners were then accused of "Instigation and Subversion of State
Power." Not only can their family members not accept these accusations,
their neighbors are also discussing the issue. Even a government officer said,
"The things the CCP does are quite unreasonable. Why is putting up a poster
being called 'Subversion of State Power?' Could several laid-off workers and
housewives, with neither position nor power, topple the regime? It's totally
unreasonable!" Some people involved in the persecution in Chicheng County: Zhao Zhanhua, county Party Committee secretary: 86-13503135958 (Cell)
