If a Beggar's Organs Can be Taken While the Beggar is Still Alive...
By Oyang Fei
(Clearwisdom.net) In a society ruled by the Chinese Communist Party,
Chinese people's lives are worthless. However, with the progress of modern
medicine, people's lives are becoming priceless to the Party now. Beggars in
torn clothes, people with mental retardation, prisoners that receive the death
sentence, and Falun Gong practitioners that are illegally detained--those who
used to be ignored by the Party are now precious. Actually, to put it more
accurately, their lives are still worthless, but their bodies are precious. On July 3, 2007, the Intermediate Court of Shijiazhuang City in Hebei
Province publicly heard an unusual case. The indictment said, "On the night
of November 9 2006, defendant Wang Chaoyang together with Wang Xiaohui, Liu
Huimin, and Wang Yongliang who are still at large, abducted beggar Tong Gefei.
They tied him up and took him to a house at an abandoned transformer substation
to the south of Shangfang Village in Xingtang County. Wang Chaoyang illegally
locked down Tong with tools he had prepared earlier. Then Wang Chaoyang
contacted Doctor Chen Jie discussing details for selling and purchasing organs.
Around 5 a.m. on the morning of November 15 2006, Wang Chaoyang strapped Tong to
death. He told Doctor Chen Jie and a few other doctors that Tong was a criminal
and that he was just executed upon his death sentence. He asked those doctors to
take Tong's kidneys and livers and other organs. Wang Chaoyang then received a
payment of 14,800 yuan." From beggar Tong Gefei's death, we can tell something about the newly
emerging organ harvesting in China that can produce sudden huge profits. On August 21 2007, xinhuanet.com published the "The Death of a
Beggar" article. However, it didn't report the fact that Tong Gefei was
alive when the doctors took his organs. According to the report published on
July 24 by the newspaper Yangcheng Night, defendant Wang Chaoyang said at
the trial, "When the doctors were taking organs out of Tong's body, Tong
suddenly raised his arm and scratched the arm of the doctor. Another doctor then
stepped on Tong's arm. Soon they finished." In fact, it is very critical to acquire high-quality organs for successful
organ transplants. Taking organs from live people is ideal in order to ensure
high-quality organs. When killing prisoners that received death sentences in
China, they would fire a gun from close distance and not directly into the
brain. Therefore, the prisoners would be in a deep coma state. As for the beggar
case, Wang Chaoyang was planning to have Tong's organs taken and therefore it
made sense that he wanted to keep Tong alive for the doctors. Many people would imagine that organ harvesting should happen at some
high-class sterilized hospital. However, take Tong's case for example, it was at
an abandoned house. Per the report on the Yangcheng Night newspaper,
"With the light from a flashlight, the organs were taken out very smoothly.
It took about twenty minutes." We can tell that the surgery condition was extremely poor. There was no
sterilization. Everything was primitive. The role of the doctors in this case is somewhat difficult to define. Nobody
would believe that they didn't know the truth when they took Tong's organs when
he was alive. Their reporting of the case shows that they were afraid as killing
a beggar is a crime. Then what about the fact that doctors take organs from live prisoners that
have received a death sentence? Why weren't there any reports on this? Because
the doctors don't think that's a crime. The Chinese Communist Party claims Falun
Gong practitioners are its biggest enemy. Therefore, practitioners don't even
have the rights of common prisoners that receive death sentences. This wicked
Party has demonized Falun Gong practitioners to be the most despicable group of
people. Do doctors feel guilty when they harvest organs from practitioners when
they are alive? At least, they wouldn't worry about the potential legislative
responsibilities. The doctors in Tong's case didn't have this kind of security.
Maybe this was their motivation for reporting the case. Since last year, media outside of China have exposed the fact that the
Chinese Communist Party has been harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners
when they were alive. There has been a lot of proof. However, still many people
found it too hard to believe. Now the media of the Chinese Communist Party have
reported the death of a beggar. This can serve as proof from the Party itself
about the inhumane organ harvesting performed on live Falun Gong practitioners. We have to think about why the Chinese Communist Party exposed the death of
Tong at this time. They pushed all the responsibilities to the "loser"
Wang Chaoyang, while not pressing any charges against the doctors who reported
the case. They even praised the doctors for their acts. This could be because
they were trying to find some scapegoats for harvesting organs from Falun Gong
practitioners when they were alive. In fact, since the exposure of organ harvesting by the international media,
the organ sources have diminished dramatically at hospitals in China. According
to "Southern Weekends," in 2006 the Tianjin Oriental Organ
Transplanting Center hit a record by finishing 600 liver transplant cases in one
year. However, up to today in 2007 when more than half a year has passed, the
self proclaimed "largest organ transplanting center in Asia" has only
performed 15 liver transplants. Zhu Zhijin, the associate Director of the
Center's Standing Committee said, "It was due to the low supply of the
source organs." Naturally we have this question - where did those 600 liver organs come
from in 2006? Isn't it a very basic request by the Falun Gong practitioners to
ask the Chinese Communist Party to allow independent organizations to
investigate this?
