Using the Internet for Truth-Clarification

In the fall of 1998, I received a copy of the book Zhuan Falun from a friend. I had suspected that there was such a wonderful practice in this world, and after my friend highly recommended the book, I finished reading it in one day. The introduction, Lunyu, amazed me. I have never come across such a simple explanation of the Buddha Law, yet it had such profound meaning. I felt very fortunate to finally find the truth. With the beautiful exercise music and magnificent exercises, my health gradually improved. I experienced many times the elimination of karma in the form of a serious nasal allergy. Through it, I learned how to be a cultivator and how to treat the test of sickness karma.

Teacher said in the article "Sickness Karma" in Essentials for Further Advancement:

"Why does a new student who has just begun studying the practice, or a veteran student whose body has been adjusted, experience physical discomfort in his cultivation, as though he were seriously ill? And why does this happen once in a while? I told you in my Fa lectures that this is to eliminate your karma and to improve your enlightenment quality while eliminating the karma from your different previous lives. Besides, this is also to test whether you are determined in following Dafa; this will continue until your cultivation reaches Beyond-Triple-World-Law. This is putting it in general terms."

This article helped me to understand. I have successfully overcome sickness karma by following these words. This made me determined to cultivate in Falun Dafa.

Teacher said in "Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A.:"

"During the period of time after July 20, 1999, probably every student felt that the evil seemed to penetrate everything, being everywhere. The whole thing really seemed like what those prophets had said--the evil came as if eclipsing the sky and covering the earth, and it was really as if the heavens had collapsed. The evil was everywhere. No matter how good a person was or another being was, he was probably influenced by that evil. At that time even Dafa students each thought about what this meant for them: Should I cultivate this Dafa? Is Dafa really right, or is it wrong? What kind of person is Li Hongzhi, anyway? A lot of students made it through, steadfast, after reflecting. Truly remarkable."

I was also once muddle-headed but gradually improved my understanding.

I chose to clarify the facts online. Although I am not familiar with computer technology, I happen to have a computer at home. I asked a fellow practitioner who was a computer expert to help me install software. Fearing that I would forget the procedure, I wrote down the operation procedure step-by-step. I did not know anything and could not even hold the mouse correctly. But this practitioner was very kind and calm. I understood that practitioners are truly cultivators. I easily overcame the fear of being a beginner. Because of encouragement, I could face the difficulty. I asked whenever I had questions and therefore got my problems resolved instantly. I learned a remote SOS system and I could start clarifying the truth immediately. I clarify the truth online because it can reach a wide range of people and cover different fields, such as forums and chat rooms, e-mail, and various other systems. Although it was difficult initially, I came to understand that the process of improving my computer skills was similar to improving my xinxing. I truly understand the meaning of Teacher's words, "However high your character is, that's how high your Gong is" in Zhuan Falun.

Because of the fast pace of Fa-rectification, various projects have been expanding. As a result, there was a great need for people with technical skills. I only knew some basics about software, but after realizing the importance of computers in clarifying the truth, I decided to join the computer team. After several training sessions, I still barely understood anything. However, when I had the thought that I wanted to join the team, Teacher and other Gods and Daos helped me. Many practitioners started seeking help from me when they encountered computer problems. I became very busy. It was easy for me to install software, but I still didn't know how to deal with virus problems. After an experienced practitioner showed me on site, I finally learned how to maintain computers. This process was indeed a process of improving my character. I reminded myself of the compassion and calm demeanor of the practitioner who first taught me how to use the computer. Now it was my turn. However, I still didn't know how to deal with facing practitioners of different skill levels. It seemed so easy when the other practitioner taught me, but it was very difficult for me when it was my turn to show others. The conflicts were serious. I calmed down and studied the Fa. I looked within and reminded myself of the procedure the other practitioner had showed me. I also realized that beginners need to go through a learning curve. Therefore, I let go of my attachments and encouraged them. Consequently, they picked it up quickly and I, in turn, learned a lot from them.

Several practitioners realized that we needed to establish a computer classroom. Because everyone had different opinions, however, conflicts occurred. I knew that I needed to look within, but sometimes I could not control myself and got upset. The coordinator had to convince me and analyze the whole situation for me.

Teacher said in "Teaching the Fa at the Fa conference at the U.S. Capital:"

"The conflicts and tensions that Dafa disciples encounter are solely for the sake of cultivation and the sake of validating the Fa. Even though human attachments, the attachment of showing off, the attachments of the individual, and the elements of human beings that want to validate themselves are involved, [Dafa disciples] know about these and once they are discovered, they will fix them. That is completely different from ordinary people. So there will be problems between Dafa disciples, and, moreover, such things play an additional role. Namely, once the conflict or tension surfaces, it will affect other people. Once others take notice of it, the conflict or tension will intensify, which will then make the cultivators involved take notice of it. If [a cultivator] can look within when going through that, he will be able to find his shortcomings. If the conflict or tension were not brought to the surface or didn't appear, you wouldn't be able to discover your attachments and identify them."

We have established two computer classes. One is a basic class and the other is for more skilled practitioners. In the basic class, one needs to be patient, caring, and encouraging. Every practitioner experienced initial difficulties but became very skillful in clarifying the truth. I see the results of improving our character. Nothing is difficult as long as we are determined.

Every project in Fa-rectification is demanding on the surface. However, for a practitioner who walks his path in cultivation, he will not feel it, as it is the opportunity to improve his character as well as to establish his mighty virtue. As long as we cultivate, we will want to improve. This results from the upgrading of our understanding of Fa principles.
