Police Mistreat Practitioners Ms. Liang Xiuqin and Her Son, and Ms. Duan Guiping and Her Daughter from Hebei Province
(Clearwisdom.net) At around 10:00 p.m. on August 10, 2007, police
officers from the Qianam City Police Department in Tangshan City, Hebei Province
and the Taipingzhuang Township Police Station, arrested Falun Gong practitioner
Ms. Lian Xiuqin and her son Li Qiulin (college student, not a practitioner) and
confiscated Li Qiulin's motorcycle. Police accused them of posting Falun Dafa
posters. At 4:00 a.m. the next day, six or seven police officers led by the Village
Head Li Xi (male), forced their way into practitioner Ms. Duan Guiping's home by
climbing over the wall around her house, awakening her husband Li Dong and her
daughter Li Anli, who were sleeping soundly. They illegally searched her house
and confiscated many Falun Dafa books, including two copies of Zhuan
Falun, Essentials for Further Advancement, electronic books, a
set of VCDs of Teacher's Fa-lectures, some
truth-clarification materials, a tape recorder, and other personal
belongings. When Ms. Duan Guiping's husband, Li Dong, asked the police, "What are
you doing here so late at night?" A police officer threatened him and said
"Don't move as this is a criminal offense case." At that time, Ms.
Duan had only her night clothes on. The policemen did not allow her to get
dressed and dragged her out. When her family protested, a police officer told
her that somebody would help her put on her clothes at the Police Department.
They took her to the Political and Security Division of the Qianan City Police
Department, where she was interrogated all night by the deputy director. The
following day on August 12, 2007, she was taken to Qianan City Detention Center. Several days later, the police came and confiscated the motorcycle belonging
to Ms. Duan's family. Three days later, the police went to her house again to
look for her daughter Li Anli and practitioner Ms. Zhao Cuiyun, as the officers
were planning to arrest both of them. The two practitioners escaped using their
wisdom. They were forced to leave home and live on the streets to avoid further
persecution. Fearing that the two young people's studies would be disrupted, Li Qiulin's
father, Li Shan, went to the Police Department to take them back home. The
Qianan Police Department extorted 40,000 yuan and provided no
receipt before releasing Li Qiulin. It was said that Li Qiulin was mistreated at
the police department and was shocked with electric batons.
