Details of a Recent Brainwashing Session at Jishu Town Reservoir, Shulan City, Jilin Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Shulan City Politics and Law Committee officials, along with agents from the 610 Office and police department, held a brainwashing session at the Jishu Town Reservoir, for the purpose of forcing Falun Gong practitioners into giving up their beliefs. The detailed program was set up during a meeting on August 10, 2007. A "reform" quota was set for each county and town, with each town required to supply one or two participants for the session.

Police from towns and townships in Shulan City arrested Falun Gong practitioners who persist in their belief. The arrests began at 4:00 a.m. on August 11, 2007 and continued until 8:00 a.m. on August 12, 2007. The people and organizations involved were the city 610 Office, the city police department, officials from the National Security Division, with participation from the towns of Baiqi, Shuiqu and Jishu, the townships of Qili and Kaiyuan, and the northern region in Shulan City, with officials from the Townships of Liangjiashan, Lianhua, Pingan Town in Shulan City, and local police stations.

The following people are known to be involved in these arrests:

City National Security team leader Song Xining; head and deputy head Li Shupo from the Lianhua Township Police Station; Hu Guoxiao, township Communist Youth League secretary, along with four local police officers; Li Yanjiang, Jishu Township police officer, Chang Baochun, from the Labor and Protection Section, along with five other people; Liu Xieyi and Gao Zeying, police officers from Jishu Town, accompanied by the Residential Committee director of residences, Zhang Dianquan (No. 25 Middle School principal in Qili Township), Hu Pengyan, Yang Guangwei, Hao Shu, Zhou Xiguang and Zhang Li (Qili Township police); the head and several police officers from the Huancheng Police Station, and Zhu Jinpo, Jiang Siyi, and many other officers from the Liangjiashan Township Police Station.

The arrested Falun Gong practitioners include Ma Tiesong, Qu Xiumin, Zhang Jinling, Fen Bingmei, Xu Wenguo, Song Shuangxing, Wang Shuqin. There were a total of fourteen practitioners illegally arrested.

Several torture methods were used in the brainwashing session at the Jishu Town Reservoir.

Nine former practitioners who had betrayed Falun Gong under pressure and brainwashing were called in. They included Ma Yan, Wang Shulan, Chen Yayan, Li Hong, Pan Zhaorui, Zhu Jiahui (from Changchen City), Liang Guozhong (Huadian City), Li Keju (Shulan City), and another person surnamed Ma from a Jilin City suburb. Those people were personally involved in the persecution of the Falun Gong practitioners. To "reform" practitioners, and force them to give up Falun Gong, they used various methods including bullying and terrifying, lies, slander, intimidation and deception. One person was initially in charge of each practitioner. Later there were two, three and more assigned to one practitioner. Sometimes more than a dozen perpetrators attempted to "reform" one practitioner using the above-mentioned abusive methods. Those who did not give up Falun Gong would lose their job, or be suspended without pay, sent to a forced labor camp or sentenced to imprisonment.

At the brainwashing center, Falun Gong practitioners were forbidden from leaving the room, and had no freedom. Politics and Law Committee officials, police, and other perpetrators stayed in the hallway and monitored practitioners' activities. Some took photos of the practitioners to intimidate them.

Zhu Jiahui mentally and physically abused those who firmly believed in Dafa. He slandered Dafa and Master. Pao Zhaorui was even worse. Jilin City 610 Office head Shi Kuasong and Zhu Jiahui deprived Falun Gong practitioners of sleep, attempted to force them to accept fabricated information, and otherwise terrified them. The tortures were continued for a day or two, and even after a practitioner had signed the "five agreements" (documents renouncing the practice of Falun Dafa) this person would be monitored. Li Keju and Shi Kuansong verified practitioners' "true transformation." Finally, a Shulan National Security guard would illegally subject the person to a psychological exam and compile documentation before the person could be released. As an added torment to the mental abuse, prior to departure, the captive had to sing "The Same Song" and other songs learned at the labor camp.

About fifty perpetrators were involved in this brainwashing session. The perpetrators ate luxurious meals each day at lunch and dinner time, sitting at five tables: two for police officers, and three for the rest. They paid for these luxuries with ordinary people's hard-earned tax money. Meats included dog meat, lamb, chicken, pork, fish and others. Falun Gong practitioners' meals were exceedingly simple and had to be eaten inside the brainwashing room.
