(Clearwisdom.net) The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Jiexi County, Guangdong Province has not been widely exposed on the Internet in the past. The following are some facts of the persecution:

Mr. Lin Zepeng, 66, is a resident of Dongyuan Village, Dongyuan Towan, Jiexi County. He has been arrested and jailed many times because of his belief in Falun Gong.

On February 9, 2002, agents from the Dongyuan Police Station and from the 610 Office in Jiexi County searched Lin Zepeng's house. They confiscated his Falun Gong books and arrested him. He was jailed in the Jiexi County Detention Center for 15 days.

On October 17, 2002, police officers from the Xixi area of Jieyang City arrested Lin Zepeng when he was visiting a friend there. He was badly beaten. Mr. Lin was then held in the same detention center for 28 days.

On September 24, 2004, Lin Zepeng went to Zengdaliao Village, Jingxiyuan County to hand out Falun Gong materials. Police officers from the Jingxiyuan Police Station arrested and beat him. Dongyuan Police Station officials searched his house and confiscated his Falun Gong materials.

Mr. Lin was eventually held in the Hepo Detention Center and went on a hunger strike to protest. The persecutors sentenced him to a three-year labor camp term on December 29, 2004. Later on he was sent to Meizhou Prison.

Ms. Hong Lizhu, 50, is a resident of Mianhu Town, Jiexi County. She was the contact person for the Falun Gong exercise site in Mianhu Town. Ms. Hong was watched and spied on since the persecution started.

On July 20, 1999, Mianhu Police Station agents monitored her 24 hours a day. Mianhu Police Station political head Lin Shaojiao took a few policemen and searched Hong Lizhu's house and confiscated her Falun Gong materials. They forced her to sign a guarantee letter and a promise not to practice Falun Gong. They also ordered her to periodically report to the police station. Lin Shaojiao forced her to view materials attacking Falun Gong on TV. Policeman Huang Yiqin and other policemen harassed her frequently.

On March 1, 2002, Huang Yiqin and seven other officers from the Mianhu Police Station took her to that station. Later on they sent her to the detention center in Jiexi County. She was jailed for 15 days and had to pay 200 yuan to the police. On September 20, Mianhu Police Station agents took her to a brainwashing center in Jiexi County. She was forced to watch videos attacking Falun Gong. Twenty days later, they sent her to the county detention center, where she was jailed for one month and had to pay 400 yuan.

In 2006, Mianhu Police Station agents searched her house and turned the place upside down.

Ms. Yang Lina, 42, is a resident of Mianhu Town, Jiexi County. She started practicing Falun Gong in July 1998. On June 26, 2000 she went to a park to do the exercises, and Mianhu Police Station agents arrested her. Mianhu Police Station political head Lin Shaojiao and other policemen sent her to the county detention center, where she was jailed for 15 days and had to pay 200 yuan. After that, Guo Lewei from the county "610 Office" often came to her house to harass her.

On September 20, 2002, Mianhu Police Station agents came to her house and ordered her to go with them to the police station. She refused. The policemen beat her and carried her into a police vehicle. She was sent to the county detention center, where she was compelled to undergo 30 days of brainwashing.

Ms. Liu Ziying, 46, is from Minahu Town, Jiexi County. On October 23, 2001 she went to the countryside to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. Huizhai Police Station agents arrested her, and she was jailed in the county detention center for 30 days. Policemen threatened her and her family, and the local authorities extorted 10,000 yuan from her family in fines.

Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Wang Guilin

Mr. Wang Guilin is from Mianhu Town, Jiexi County. He was arrested in Zhanlong in 2000. He was first jailed in Zhanlong for two days and then in the Jiexi County Detention Center for 12 days, and had to pay 500 yuan in fines. Following Mr. Wang's release, Mianhu Police Station deputy head Wu Changxiang ordered him to register with the police station every two days.

Ms. Wang Fenzhen is from Mianhu Town, Jiexi County. Mianhu Police Station agents have harassed her and searched her house many times. Her practitioner husband was arrested in the Zhanlong area of Puning City in 2000 when he was visiting his friend there and jailed for 15 days. He had to pay 200 yuan. On March 1, 2002, Mianhu Police Station agents broke into her house and confiscated all of her Falun Gong books. They arrested her husband and jailed him in the Qianshan Detention Center in Hepo, Jiexi City, for 15 days. He had to pay 200 yuan.
