(Clearwisdom.net) On September 14, 2007, two Falun Gong practitioners from Japan filed a lawsuit against Jia Qinglin, the Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and a member of the Central Politburo Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, for genocide, torture and slander. Jia Qinglin was visiting Kobe, Japan, at the time. So far, there are four lawsuits against Jia Qinglin outside of China. Practitioners also filed a lawsuit against Bo Xilai, the Chinese Commerce Minister, who was supposed to visit Kobe with Jia, but canceled his traveling plan before the trip.

The lawyer and the plaintiffs

On September 14, two plaintiffs, the chair of the Falun Dafa Association in Japan, and their lawyer submitted this lawsuit to the court in Osaka. In the file, practitioners pointed out that Jia Qinglin was actively involved in the persecution of Falun Gong when he was the mayor of Beijing. He directed the persecution and is responsible for 49 deaths of Falun Gong practitioners in Beijing.

Bo Xilai was also actively involved in the persecution of Falun Gong when he was the mayor of Dalian. From 1999 to 2004, 29 Falun Gong practitioners were tortured to death in Dalian. When Bo Xilai was the governor of Liaoning Province, the persecution of Falun Gong became very severe. Up to April 2004, 103 Falun Gong practitioners were tortured to death in Liaoning.

Many high-ranking officials of the CCP have been sued by Falun Gong practitioners all over the world. So far there are 14 lawsuits against Bo Xilai for torture and four against Jia Qinglin. The first lawsuit against Jia Qinglin was filed in Austria in September 2004.

Two plaintiffs, one Chinese and one Japanese, were illegally tried, brainwashed, and jailed in Beijing and Dalian. They sued Jia Qinglin and Bo Xilai for torture and publishing slanderous materials that attacked Falun Gong. They asked the defendants to pay 260 thousand US dollars.

At the press conference, the practitioners' lawyer pointed out that international society doesn't know enough about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, and the lawsuit offers a chance for the Japanese to hear about this genocide.
