Twenty-one Practitioners Illegally Detained in Dongkou County, Hunan Province

(Clearwisdom.net) On the night of July 28, 2007, 21 Falun Gong practitioners were viciously attacked, illegally arrested, and detained by personnel from the 610 Office, the national security office, and police stations. The basic information is as follows:

Ms. Wang Baoyuan, 66 years old, lives in Jinwu Village. She was detained in the Dongkou County Detention Center.

Ms. Liu Qiju, 37 years old, on the staff of the Agriculture Institute in Dongkou County. She lives in Jinwu Village. Three days later, on July 31, she was sent to Wugang Detention Center.

Ms. Zeng Meihua is 44 years old. On the second day she was sent directly to the Dongkou Detention Center. In May 2003, she once was secretly sent to the Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp and illegally detained for a year and a half.

Mr. Xiang Youhai, more than 60 years old, is a teacher in Maopu Elementary School in Dongkou County. The authorities confiscated many things from his house including a desktop computer, printer, paper cutter, Dafa books, truth-clarifying materials, and more than three thousand yuan. He was detained from the night of the 29th to 6 o'clock in the morning on the 30th, then sent back to the judicature institute and illegally tried. He was hit on the head with a bottle of spring water and forced to kneel down. On July 31 he was transferred and detained.

Mr. Xiao Jinyuan, a farmer, more than 50 years old, lives in Jinwu Village. He was transferred to the First Detention Center of Shaoyang City and detained.

Mr. Yang Weizhen, 78 years old, lives in Gaosha Town.

Mr. Yuan Guoxue, 64 years old, lives in Gaosha Town. He was transferred to the Dongkou Detention Center on the second day. He was released after they extorted two thousand yuan from him. In May 2001, he was illegally arrested from his home and secretly put into a forced labor camp for two years. Because he refused to give up his belief, in June 2005 he was sent to a brainwashing center by the detention center and then transferred back to the detention center for more than a month. He was then illegally sent to Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp in Changsha City for a year and a half.

Mr. Xue Zhongyou, 60 years old, lives in Gaosha Town. He was taken to a police station for two days. Because he yelled "Falun Dafa is good," the police whipped him.

Ms. Shu Chuntao, 50 years old, lives in Nanshui Village. Because she called out "Falun Dafa is good" she was hung up by the police. After they extorted twenty-five thousand yuan from her, she was released on the second day.

Ms. Zhang Jinhua, 65 years old, lives in Gaosha Town. On the night of July 28, six policemen broke into her house for no reason. She was dragged out by policeman Zeng Jun. Because her 95-year-old mother was sick in bed, her neighbor persuaded the police that there was no one to take care of the elderly woman, so Ms Zhang was not detained.

Ms. Xiao Yan, 78 years old, lives in Gaosha Town. After an illegal trial, she was released at 3:00 am on the second day.

Ms. Yang Xiufeng, more than 50 years old, lives in Gaosha Town.

Ms. Xiao Biyun, more than 50 years old, is employed in the Supply and Marketing Building of Dongkou County. Three days later she was fined three thousand yuan and then released.

Ms. Lei Yunlian, more than 50 years old, is an employee of the Dongkou County Trade Market. Three days later she was transferred and illegally detained at the Dongkou Detention Center.

Mr. Xiang Yangu, more than 60 years old, lives in Jinwu Village. He was taken to the judicature institute for two and a half days and forced to give a thumb print. His family wrote a "guarantee letter." He was released after the police had extorted five hundred yuan from the family.

Mr. Xiao Jinshan, more than 70 years old, is a farmer and lives in Dongkoutang. His house was searched by eight policemen from the Dongkou Police Station and the Judicature Institute of Dongkou County.

Ms. Xiao Baoxiu is a farmer and more than 60 years old. She lives in Dongkoutang. She was taken to the Judicature Institute for no reason for one and a half days. She was forced to give her fingerprints, and her family members wrote a guarantee letter to get her released.

Ms. Xue Huiyun, a 70-year-old farmer, lives in Zhushi Town. She was released at night on the second day.

Ms. Xiao Hongyan, 40 years old, was sent to Longhui Detention Center on July 30. Three days later she appeared sick and was forced to hand over five hundred yuan in order to be released.

According to pertinent information, these arrests occurred because the 610 Office was looking for a Dafa practitioner. They arrested and threatened practitioners and extorted money from them. Without following any legal procedures they detained, extorted confessions from, tortured, and tried these kind people. This kind of lawless behavior typifies the tyranny of the Chinese Communist Party.
