Different Thoughts Yield Different Results

(Clearwisdom.net) In January of this year, my newborn baby girl, who was only two weeks old, was diagnosed with a rare disease. Her urinary tract was stuck together, and she could not pass urine easily. After surgery was performed on her, the situation was aggravated instead of alleviated. Whenever she had to pass urine, she cried in pain and could not do it. In this way from noon to midnight, my baby girl cried loudly. We were panicked but could not do anything. In my heart I kept begging Master to save the child, but the situation did not improve.

Later, the child's condition got worse. In the middle of the night, we could not find any transportation to go to the hospital. While in this kind of urgent situation, I had the thought, "If I asked my mother-in-law and husband to recite, 'Falun Gong is good' for the sake of the child, and if the child recovered, they would witness with their own eyes the wonderfulness of Falun Gong. Wouldn't they then be saved?" Both of them had different levels of misunderstanding about Falun Gong. I said to them, "The child is still young and cannot talk. Let us recite 'Falun Gong is good' in our hearts and beg Master to save the child."

The two of them did not object as they would have previously. They agreed to do so, perhaps out of desperation. I also took the opportunity to clarify the truth about Falun Gong to them. After four to five minutes, a miracle happened. The baby managed to pass urine without pain, and she was saved. Upon seeing this, my husband said with much emotion, "It was really miraculous! It is even more effective than magic pills!" I said, "Do you believe me now? My Master said that if an everyday person said, 'Falun Gong is good!' he will be protected."

After thinking about this incident, I thought, "My request was similar to my previous request for Master to help; why was there a different outcome? My initial request was for a selfish reason; I only wanted my baby to recover from illness. The later request for help from Master was made for the sake of offering salvation to sentient beings. Master said, "When you conduct yourselves righteously Master can do anything for you." (Touring North America to Teach the Fa)

Master is protecting us at all times; He treasures us more than we treasure ourselves. What reason can we give for not doing what Master requires of us? Compassionate and great Master has thought of everything for us. Fellow practitioners, let us be diligent and take every step well.
