Newark, Delaware, USA: Spreading "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" on "Community Day"

(Clearwisdom.net) September 16 marks the annual Community Day in Newark, Delaware. More than ten thousand people came to the celebration. Local Falun Gong practitioners were invited to perform for the seventh time.

As usual, the celebration was held on the campus of the University of Delaware. Almost 100 groups had booths there. Falun Gong practitioners were invited to perform on the stage at noon. They first played waist drums to the music "Falun Dafa is good." Spectators, including many Chinese, gave warm applause. Practitioners and students from Minghui School then demonstrated the exercises. The host introduced the practice and the persecution to the audience. Finally, young practitioners from Minghui School performed a traditional Chinese celestial maiden dance to the music "Lotus Flower." The host told the audience that the lotus flower is a symbol of purity and peace in Chinese culture.

Many people came to the practitioners' booth and wanted to know more about Falun Gong.

Many local citizens and government officials expressed that they noticed practitioners' contributions to the community. They learned the truth of Falun Gong and support it. The former mayor of Newark was deceived by the Chinese Communist Party officials and misunderstood Falun Gong. He canceled the proclamation issued to Falun Gong practitioners and refused to accept Falun Gong materials from practitioners. Later, the state congress passed a resolution to call upon the federal government to pay more attention to the organ harvesting atrocities. At the congressional meeting, the former mayor of Newark admitted in public that he made mistakes before. He apologized to practitioners. He expressed that he had run into practitioners during many community events and learned the truth of Falun Gong from them. He was happy to have a chance to apologize to practitioners for the mistakes he made before.

At the celebration, practitioners introduced Falun Gong and exposed the brutal persecution to the public. Many people signed their names in support. They expressed that the media and government should pay more attention to the human rights violation in China, and many said they they would support a boycott of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Once more, practitioners brought the beauty of Falun Gong to people in Delaware.
