In August 2007, when Mr. Zhang went to his old home to pack up some of his belongings, he came across a pile of signs and frames with awards for "Advanced Worker," "Model Worker," etc. that he had earned over the past few decades through his hard work. He thought, "These are evidence and testimony to my work performance over the past few decades. I can hang them on the wall for decoration." When he was hanging up the framed certificate for "Outstanding CCP Member," it suddenly fell and landed on his right foot. The pain was unbearable, his foot swelled up, and he could not even let it touch the ground without hurting it more.

He explained the whole incident to his wife, who said gravely, "Why do you still not understand? I told you before about withdrawing from the CCP. You did well at that time and agreed to withdraw immediately. Today when you found those things leftover from your association with the evil CCP, why didn't you destroy them? You even wanted to hang them up to remember that time. Wasn't this accident to your foot caused by your pursuit of personal affirmation by the CCP?"

Mr. Zhang was awakened by his wife's comments. He immediately went back to their old home to destroy the CCP awards and certificates. As a result, the swelling in his foot suddenly disappeared.
