Clarifying the Truth with a Compassionate Heart

(Clearwisdom.net) Looking back at our experiences of clarifying the truth over the past seven years, we initially were passive and gradually became more active in exposing the evil persecution. Now we take the initiative to try to persuade people to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party and thus save them.

With regard to the materials themselves, in the very beginning we used articles, pamphlets, and flyers directly downloaded from the websites, and then we printed and distributed them. Later on we edited the information ourselves, and now we tailor materials according to the readers' specific situations. All the different forms of truth-clarifying materials are testimonies to Dafa practitioners' validating the Fa in the human world. The improvement in the content reflected the raising of Dafa practitioners' cultivation realms, as well as our transition from passively counteracting the persecution, to actively saving sentient beings.

When I distribute truth-clarification DVDs to cars parked along the road, I usually put the disk on the door handle on the driver's side, to ensure that the driver will notice it. When placing a disk at the door handle is not feasible, I put it on the windshield. Once when I had placed a disk on the windshield of a mini-van, I saw the vehicle owner walking toward the van as I left on the other side of the road. To make sure the owner would notice the disk and would not throw it away, I waited quietly at the other side of the road. The owner had not noticed the disk after he got into the van and kept talking to the person sitting next to him. He started the engine and was about to leave. I was worried he would lose the opportunity to be saved. All of a sudden the engine died. He started it again, and the engine died once more. Just then the driver noticed the disk on the windshield. I was astonished. I did not know whether there was a righteous god helping me, or it was the power of righteous thoughts. However, I suddenly had a little understanding of the "compassion" gained from Dafa cultivation.

I had always imagined there would be a grand manifestation of some kind when our compassion came forth in cultivation. I now understand it will happen peacefully. I remember what Master said in "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa Conference:"

"Without 'nothing,' it is a human feeling. If it is a human feeling, then it's not bei (compassion)."

My shallow understanding is that true compassion is beyond the human mind; it is a pure, unselfish state. People always say "compassionate heart." My understanding is that compassion is beyond the human mind; it is an altruistic state of existence; it is magnificent and divine.

The process of making truth-clarification materials is a process of ascending in cultivation, as is explaining the truth to people face to face. When we clarify the truth to people with a compassionate mind, our words will be gentle and convincing. The same is true when making truth-clarification materials. My words had gone from being vehement to placid when I again edited truth-clarifying materials. I feel it is easier to convince people when I no longer force my ideas on them. I just calmly offer sentient beings salvation and no longer work against the Fa.

My wife, our child, and I have clarified the truth in our spare time for the past several years. We started from nothing. Later on we got a computer. Then we learned how to browse the Internet using a proxy, how to download materials, print and distribute them, and also also how to explain the truth to people face to face. Since the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party" was published, we save people by persuading them to withdraw from the Party and its affiliated organizations. We send righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil factors controlling people, help them to sober up, and tell them this is something closely connected to their best interests. We are meant to have strong righteous thoughts and at the same time use our wisdom to clarify the truth and be very patient.

The biggest lesson I have learned in trying to persuade people to withdraw from the CCP is this: we have to get rid of our human attachments while doing such a divine thing as saving sentient beings. We should have compassion toward all sentient beings and use the power of righteous thoughts to explain the truth and save them. We will run into trouble if we do Dafa work with the mindset of ordinary people or while under the influence of any attachment a cultivator should not have.

I once saw a young man at my company's construction site. He was looking at me like he knew me. After I finished my work I saw him working alone. I walked toward him to clarify the truth to him. However, as I was walking I thought, "This young man is very fit and good-looking. It would be nice if I could take him to my world." When I clarified the truth to him later, the effect was not good. Even though he knew how bad the CCP is, he avoided the issue of withdrawing from the CCP. Even more surprising, two weeks later my superior asked me if I had tried to persuade someone to withdraw from the CCP. It turned out the young worker had become quite nervous after I spoke to him and reported me to my employer in order to protect himself. This surprised me greatly, but later I treated it with righteous thoughts. My superior did not follow up on this matter, most likely because he had an opportunity to know the truth from overseas fellow practitioners. I know that Master was looking after me. This incident taught me a profound lesson. Even ordinary people say not to judge people by their appearance; our realizations as cultivators should transcend ordinary people, and we must treat all sentient beings with immense compassion.

I hope all fellow practitioners will strive forward diligently in cultivation, not let Master's salvation have been in vain, not ignore sentient beings' expectation, and not miss this precious opportunity that occurs once in tens of millions of years.
