(Clearwisdom.net) Taiwan's Central Radio Broadcasting Station reported on September 5, 2007 that while the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit is being held in Sydney, Australia, there will be many activities and protests outside the meeting sites. Over the past few days, Falun Gong practitioners, who have been suffering persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for 8 years, have been holding banners in Hyde Park opposite the Sheraton Hotel, where leaders from New Zealand, Chile and other countries are staying. Falun Gong practitioners said that when American President Bush and Chinese President Hu have a meeting on Thursday, they will take to the streets to allow more people to see their peaceful protests.

The APEC is being held in Australia this year and in addition to many international media organizations that will cover the event, many groups, including Falun Gong, have launched a parade campaign in Sydney. Lily Chou, who has been living in Australia for over 20 years, said that by taking the opportunity to publicly appeal at the APEC summit, "We want to urge the CCP to end the live organ harvesting [of illegally-detained Falun Gong practitioners] that has been going on for eight years." Ms. Chou said, "We will hold banners to let them see the appeal of Falun Gong practitioners worldwide: [The banners will read:] Stop the persecution of Falun Gong! Release Falun Gong practitioners detained in China! Stop harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners!"

Falun Gong practitioners will take to the streets on Thursday in order to expose the atrocities of the CCP regime. Ms. Chou said, "There will be large-scale activities and speeches here at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. We will then proceed from here at noon to the Central Railway Station. The police will keep this road clear for us, and we will walk along this road."
