(Clearwisdom.net) On New Year's Eve, local practitioners met at the Chinese Embassy in Bratislava to welcome in the New Year in a special way. All around there was the sound of merrymaking and in the night sky there were flares and fireworks. Despite the commotion, a group of Falun Gong practitioners meditated peacefully. As a mark of respect, they hoped for this peace to descend on their fellow practitioners in China, who are persecuted for their belief in Falun Gong. Even though it was foggy, the atmosphere was very pleasant. The police officer on duty listened to the story of the persecution and he was interested in how it happened and why. A passer-by, who came by soon after the dawn of the new year, said that he had seen us there in our regular peaceful protests at the Embassy for a few years and that he would like to read our flyer. Then he spent a few minutes in conversation with a practitioner who explained to him what Falun Gong is and why it is persecuted in China.
