(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of January 11, 2008, Divine Performing Arts performed the first of three shows of the Chinese New Year Spectacular at the Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre in Denver, Colorado.

At 6:30-7:30 p.m. on January 11, 2008, local coordinators of the show held a reception in the theater to express appreciation to local leaders, media, and show sponsors for their support. The guests thanked NTDTV for bringing the Divine Performing Arts show to Colorado.

Mayor John W. Hickenlooper of Denver attended the reception and gave a speech. He praised NTDTV for helping overseas Chinese people adapt and merge into mainstream society with freedom of information and diversity. He expressed his admiration to the Divine Performing Arts for its efforts in bringing back Chinese traditional culture.

Ms. Zhao, a local contact for the show, said, "This is the first time the Chinese New Year Spectacular show has been presented in Colorado. The Denver Post reported that the Chinese New Year Spectacular tries to present an active and genuine Chinese art untwisted by modern media. It is one of the main reasons that it has attracted such attention."

She continued, "Besides the proclamation from Denver, we also received a proclamation from the city of Lakewood and congratulatory letters from Governor Bill Ritter, Jr. and the mayor of the city of Aurora."

"I am Glad that the Show Presents the Message of Falun Gong"

Former Colorado Senator Lewis Entz previously signed resolutions supporting Falun Gong and NTDTV. After attending the show, he said he was glad to see the message of Falun Gong in the show, "We should do this and tell people the facts about Falun Gong."

After seeing the show, Mr. Frank Weddig who is former state senator and representative and currently is a commissioner applauded the performance and said he was touched by the program showing the persecution of Falun Gong and the practitioners' steadfast belief.

The Show Touched the Denver Audience

During the two hour-plus show, continuous applause was heard throughout the theater. After the show, the audience shared their praise.

Nancy Rebecca, who worked in entertainment business for more than ten years and has watched various art shows, said, "Beautiful. No one else can do this."

Sherry Rossiter from Denver said, "Fantastic. I liked all of it. My most favorite was the 'Drummers of the Tang Court'."

Thelea Brook, who teaches ballet in Denver, said, "Your culture is beautiful and rich. Each performance was very good. The dancing and costumes were very nice." She is interested in Chinese culture and studied the Book of Changes. She said that she could not understand why the CCP damages Chinese traditional culture.
