Today's report relates persecution incidents that involve 27 cities or counties in 13 provinces. Eighty-two Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 64 practitioners were illegally arrested.

Five practitioners from the Acheng District in Harbin City were arrested and put in the city's No. 1 Detention Center on January 26, 2007. Family visits are prohibited.

Ms. Wei Xiyun, 60 years old, from Bazhou City, in the Langfang Area of Hebei Province, was arrested on December 11, 2007, for explaining the facts about Falun Gong in another township. She is presently being held at the Langfang City Brainwashing Center.

Mr. Wang Hongwei from Tongzhou County, Beijing was transferred from the Beijing Detention Center to the Procuratorate Department in December 2007.

Dongying City Shengli Oil Field officials ordered policemen and special agents from the National Security Division to follow, harass, and/or monitor practitioners in Xianhe Town in December 2007. Several practitioners have been followed and arrested.

Police arrested Mr. Rao Jiajun from Huangshi City at the city's No. 10 Middle School on November 13, 2007. It was heard that he was arrested because someone reported him when he posted Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. Police first put him in the city's Baguazui Detention Center for 15 days and then transferred him to Shayang Forced Labor Camp in Fanjiatai, Hubei Province, on November 19, 2007.

Personnel from the Nanjiang Police Station in the Xi'an District, Mudanjiang City, harassed several practitioners at their homes in the Jiangbin Residential Community before New Year's Day. They confiscated several Dafa books.

Jinan City 610 Office agents ordered personnel from every police station and residential committee to find out the source of Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. They arrested several practitioners from the Licheng District, from Baotuquan Park, and from the Huaiyin District.

Ms. Wang Yuling from the Tongzhou District, Beijing, is 56 years old and lives in Lihua Garden, Liyuan Town, the Tongzhou District. She has been arrested several times since the persecution began. Fellow practitioners discovered her missing in November 2007. Someone heard her name in the district's detention center in December 2007.

Personnel from the Huangzhong County Police Department arrested Mr. Sun Benxing, a teacher from the Danma Township Middle School in Huangzhong County, in August 2007. He is presently being held at Duoba Forced Labor Camp in Qinghai Province.

Dafangshen Town Police Station Chief Liu Jiping and officers from the Yangshu Township Police Station in Dehui City arrested Mr. Liu Guiqing from his home in Jiangjiadian Village, Dafangshen Town, Dehui City, at 1:00 p.m. on December 17, 2008. They ransacked his home and put him in the city detention center.

Personnel from the city police department and from the town police station sentenced him to one year of forced labor on December 28, 2007. Mr. Liu was sent to Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in Jiutai City, but the labor camp official refused to admit him because of his poor health. Later on, the police got Mr. Liu admitted to Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City.

Personnel from the Agriculture Market Police Station in the Xuanhua District arrested Ms. An Xiurong, Ms. Xiao Lihua, and Mr. Chen Guolin near Chunguang Township in Xicheng at 10:00 a.m. on January 7, 2008. Ms. An and Mr. Chen are being held at the Shisanli Detention Center in Zhangjiakou City, and Ms. Xiao is still being held at the police station.

Mr. Liu Xuecheng, 50 years old, lives in Tongjunzhuang Village, Shilipu Town, Miyun County. Personnel from the town police station arrested him at 9:00 a.m. on December 10, 2007. Police officers then found his wife at work, took her home, and ransacked the place. They confiscated a computer, a satellite TV receiver, and several Dafa books.

Ms. Zhou Xiuchun and Mr. Song Zhangwen were arrested on January 4, 2008, for explaining the facts about Falun Gong in the Zhongguancun Electronic Hall in Beijing. Police officers took them to the Haidian District Police Department's Qinghe Detention Center.

Seventeen practitioners went to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in Beijing in 1999, and their whereabouts have been unknown since then. They include Ms. Sun Houqin and Ms. Yue Yunqin from Danhou Village, Xicheng Township, Weishan County, Jining City; Ms. Zhong Weiqin from Macheng Township; and Ms. Jiang Shaoyun from San Village, Guoli Town.

Personnel from the Xiaoyun Town Police Station arrested Mr. Li Zhijian and his wife from Sima Township, Jinxiang County, on January 6, 2008. The arrest happened when the couple distributed Falun Gong truth-clarification materials in Xiaoyun Town. They are presently being held at the county detention center. In addition, Mr. Yuan Weizhong from Wangpi Township has not returned home after venturing out on the morning of January 7, 2008.

Ms. Yang Huiyun, an employee of Yuhong Airport in Shenyang City was arrested on January 2, 2008, and is presently being held in Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp's Brainwashing Center.

Police from Quyang County arrested several practitioners and ransacked their homes during the 2007 Autumn Festival. Four of those arrested have been sentenced to a forced labor camp. They are: Ms. Xu Yingtao, Ms. Gao Jianhong, Ms. Ji Yueqing, and Ms. Liu Jing. The former three are being held at the Baoding City Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Li Jing, a teacher from the Xiaolin Township Primary School in Quyang County, is presently being held in the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp.

Personnel from the Yuanbaoshan Domestic Security Division and from the Jianchangying Police Station arrested Ms. Wu Xiuzhen from Dongbajia, Nanmiao Village, Yuanbaoshan Town, Chifeng City, on November 22, 2007. She is presently being held in the town's Pingzhuang Detention Center.

Ms. Gao Xiurong was arrested in September 2007 for explaining the facts of Falun Gong. She is presently being held in the Chaoyang District No.2 Detention Center in Beijing. Family visits have been prohibited.

Mr. Zhou Chuming and Mr. Zheng Hongfa from Xinyu City were arrested several days ago for distributing truth-clarification materials.

Personnel from the Huangmei County 610 Office and from the Huangmei Town Police Station arrested 70-year-old Ms. Huang Huaxian from Shengpo Village, Huangmei Town, Huangmei County, the morning of January 8, 2008. They ransacked her home and confiscated several Falun Gong books, one of Master's pictures, several exercise tapes, and some truth-clarification materials. Ms. Huang is presently being held in Shilipu Detention Center.

Personnel from the Jiaoling County 610 Office often harassed Mr. Lai Jiamiao and his wife, Ms. Lin Xingru, in Jiaoling County, Meizhou City, so the couple moved to Shenzhen City. Personnel from the Luohu District Police Department broke into the couple's home at 2:00 a.m. on November 20, 2007. They confiscated a computer, a printer, and some other items and arrested the couple. The two have been held in the city's Meilin Detention Center for 50 days. Ms. Lin staged a protest hunger strike and was put in a hospital for an intravenous infusion. The couple's family was not allowed to visit them.

Several practitioners arrested in October 2007 have been sentenced to forced labor. They include: Ms. Song Baorong; Ms. Wang Aiqin from Banxianan Village, Rushan City; Mr. Liu Renchao from Huanggezhuang Village, Xiachu Town; and Ms. Liu Shiting from Xiachu Town.

Personnel from the Leizhou City Comprehensive Administration Office and from the Bianfang Police Station in Qishui arrested Ms. Du Hongxia from her own store at 4:00 p.m. on January 2, 2008. They ransacked her home and confiscated Dafa books and truth-clarification materials. Ms. Du is presently being held in the Zhanjiang City Brainwashing Center.

Seventeen of 30 practitioners that used to be held in Wafangdian City Prison were transferred to Jinzhou Prison on December 19, 2007, and the rest were transferred to Lingyuan City Prison. More than 50 practitioners are being held in Jinzhou City Prison. Two practitioners, Mr. Cui Zhilin and Mr. Xin Minduo, died as a result of torture in Jinzhou City Prison. Mr. Hu Zhiming is staging a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

Many practitioners sent forth righteous at the central square in Shenzhou the morning of January 3, 2008. About ten policemen arrested some of them, while others escaped. The police confiscated practitioners' bicycles. Twenty-nine practitioners have been taken to a detention center.

Those arrested included: Mr. Zhao Fushan and Mr. Daxiao from Xi'anzhuang Village's No. 4 Group, Ms. Yang Lifang from the No. 5 Group, Ms. Xiaoping from Xixinzhuang Village, Ms. Wenjun from Xujiazuo Village, Ms. Xiaoru and Mr. Cheng San from Dong'anzhuang Village, Mr. Xiaokun from Zaoke Village, Mr. Wang Shuqing from Beikou Village, Mr. Qiang Manghuo from Shaopu Village, and Mr. Sanhuan from Beixingyuan Village.

Ms. Zhan Hongyan was sentenced on January 5, 2008, and a verdict of four years in prison was issued on January 10, 2008. Personnel from the Wuchang District Police Department arrested Ms. Zhan from her home and took her to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center on June 22, 2007. The detention center officials refused to admit her because of her high blood pressure; however, 610 Office agents ordered the detention center officials to hold her. Ms. Zhan has lost consciousness in the detention center several times.

Mr. Wang Jijun was arrested on February 8, 2007. It was learned that he has been transferred to Qingshan Police Department's Xingouqiao Police Station and was sentenced to five years in prison. Police confiscated a computer, a printer, and some Dafa materials when they arrested Mr. Wang. He is presently being held in the Qingshan District Detention Center in Wuhan City.

The above two practitioners have appealed to the Wuhan City Court.

Ms. Liu Zhengqing, 60 years old, is from Cangqi County, Guangyuan City. She installed a satellite TV receiver to watch New Tang Dynasty TV programs. Personnel from the county's 610 Office and from the National Security Division discovered it and arrested her. The police ordered her family to pay 4,000 yuan or else her grandson would not be permitted go to school and her son and daughter would be fired from their jobs.

Mr. Tian Baodong could not walk due to torture. Officials from the Anshan City Forced Labor Camp allowed him to be released on bail for hospitalization; however, personnel from the Niuzhuang Police Station refused to sign the document.

Ms. Wang Yaojun, 60 years old, lives in the Xiangyang Community in the Jianshan District, Shuangyashan City. Personnel from the district's police department arrested her at noon on January 7, 2008. They tried to coerce her to write a guarantee statement, threatening her that if she didn't, they would put her in a detention center. It was heard that another practitioner who went to her home was also arrested.
